  1. As difference you have also in the first movement no fouettés in Symphony against the ballerina makes it in French palais de Cristal. Other difference is in the last movement. In palais de Cristal 4th mouvement leader girl and 1st movement leader girl makes the same thing, not in Symphony in C.
  2. Unfortunately, it will be not Palais de cristal but its second version Symphony in C which will be dance in the Balanchine programm.

Paquita Grand pas was a divertissement created to show all the principal ballerinas and their qualities, they choose variation where they are brilliant and it's for that we have Cupid variation in Paquita, but the original one is in Don Quixote. I don't know from which other ballets are the variation against. In all the complete version of Paquita Grand pas you have the Cupid variation, it seems that is the case in ABT version but in POB, you have it too it's sure that we had also Vinogradov's version :rolleyes: !!!!.

I'm looking for a video of Raymonda danced by the Kirov, I saw several highlights with Kolpakova (if I remember it well) and an other version seems to exist with Yulia Makhalina in the title role. Is someone owning one full lenght Raymonda by Kirov, I have naturly POB version with Pontois, Guizerix, Noureev, Vulpian, Loudières, Legris, Hilaire, Legrée, Dupond, Guérin, Olivieri, Pietragalla, and Bolchoi production, but I'm looking for the original kirov version to compare with POB one !   8. I had the Stuttgart movie, it's with the dancer whose I don't remain the name but dance Mercutio's part in Cranko' Romeo and Juliet with Marcia Haydée. I will look on my tape, the record is full !
  9. It's at the orchestra but in the deep of the orchestra which is good because he is a few "up" than rank close up to the stage .
  10. Estelle, Ballets of Marseille dance always Giselle but they danse a traditionnal version restaged by Pietragalla, it seems that they never give anymore Quilleré's version. They present especially it on tour.
  11. I have too many Balanchine which pass on TV as Stars and Stripes, tarentella, Episodes, La Valse, Concerto Barocco (german version), Liebesliederwaltz, and so on...   12. Bordeaux version of Giselle is very traditionnal. they present it during a summer festival in Frejus arenes. It just change choreography of peasants pdd who is for more dancers but it's a very, but very traditionnal version .
  13. For me the wonderful grand jeté are these of Marie-Agnès Gillot, premiere danseuse from POB, she is flying when she makes it
  14. These is three dates in june 20, 23 and 26 if I remember it well.
  15. The version of Mi Favorita will be a new version. For the gala where he showed it, it was for three couples, this time it will be for five couples. Pas de deux from Cinderella is excerpt from the second act, it's the same than for the Tribute to Nureyev where Monique Loudieres danced it with Jean-Guillaume Bart. Pas de trois from Swan Lake is not as indicated on POB website, Black swan pas de trois, but First act divertissement pas de trois. To note that they organize also an evening dedicated to the Home choreographer and we must see first works of Yann Bridard, Hervé Courtain, Mallory Gaudion, Jean-Philippe Dury, Sébastien Bertaud, Bruno Bouché, and Nicolas Paul. This two last already had presented in gala their choreography as well Jean-Philippe Dury, but it will be the first work of Yann Bridard. It's very interesting and very strange to see that José Martinez, Jean-Guillaume Bart, Nicolas Le Riche and Yann Bridard were in the same division in the School of Ballet, and every one makes choreography.
  16. Last time, ten years ago, they give Palais de cristal in Paris, it began the evening, who will finish by Glass Pieces from Robbins, Four temperaments were gift as second ballet. And the first time I saw it by POB, it was the middle ballet, he never finish the evening, what I never explain because It's so a wonderful final !

I'm glad to read your comment about Hervé Courtain, it was one of the POB sujet I like too many, he is not too many cast, he makes one year as soloist in Boston Ballet and I completely agree about Emilie Cozette, It's a pure miscast . Stéphane Bullion is a very young sujet, he came to be promoted, and it's his first true part as classical soloist, his other leading part was in AndreAuria (Lock's creation). I'm sorry you not see Delphine Moussin partnered by José Martinez, they was an unique couple, and she has something more than with Jean-Guillaume Bart.

But could we support to see dance as the old way; even if Kirov style is lost with interpretation of Vishneva or Zakharova who could dance everywhere and are not typical russian ballerinas as Assylmouratova who is the last dancer to keep the classical style of Kirov or perhaps Aioupova too. Could we support a very little extension especially in Rose adagio or in Shade act. I know when I saw old tapes with old dancer, we saw style which is lost, but do we are not too use of a technic more modern. I don't want an extension as Zakharova or vishneva it's too much but between the two ways. I think it's the lonely thing in this updated production who is not updated and allows to see it. I don't understand why they make these new old production, they could try to add fourth act and shows the lost pieces as Lotus dance in Bayadere but why change other thing. I don't like these new old production with their updated costums and stage. The only interest could be to hear the complete music of a ballet. But as I say before, why don't add only the lost scene to a "new" version as "older" dancer make with their variation.
  19. If Cast are right on their official website, Lise-marie Jourdain must dance Spectre de la rose young girl during the matinee. Did they dance since the beginnning of the season, except Benno. Benno is it a danced part, I believed, it was only a mime part !
  20. Two dancer of POB are in National Ballet (Lise-Marie Jourdain and Jean-Sébastien Colau). I see that Lise-Marie Jourdain will dance Spectre de la rose. Are they cast in other ballets and has someone see them and what do you think about them ?
  21. I liked too many Maurin in Allegro, she has torso movement, and arms movement who are completely in spirit of Balanchine I think. She is a surprising ballerina, she never is as we wait for, when I think she will not be good, she is extraordinary, when I think a part is for her she is not good. She was also wonderful in Emeralds "Fileuse", she is really a balanchinian ballerina. I found Moussin and Legris absolutely sensationnal. I love Letestu and Martinez, they are perhaps not in the spirit of the ballet, but I love too many them ! For me the best couple was Moussin and Martinez, Moussin is really like the swan, and Martinez is not the same than with Agnès.
  22. Thanks Marc for your comment !, did you enjoy some of our dancer or is it just a general impression ? Did you see Jewels by other troup than Kirov, did you see it by Nycb ? For subscription, my english is too poor to subscribe to an english review, I take so many time to read some comments post on all BA website that read a complete review will take several month ! Against I know that your interview are very appreciated by Dancers and I think it sound great !
  23. I completely agree with you some dancer doesn't merit their title ! But it's an other question ! I think that Emmanuel is good in supporting parts or in Paquita pas de trois, but I think he's a few old now to progress really, he is 28 years old and I saw a lot of defaults as partnership especially ! If you see Allegro Brillante, did you see Jewels, and what do you think about our dancers and what do you think about French interpretation of this ballet opposite to Russian Kirov interpretation. For me in the first cast, I love Osta as sicilian, Moreau in pas de trois with Abbagnato and Daniel, Moussin/Legris and Gillot in Rubies a perfect cast and Letestu, Martinez in Diamonds, magic, even if saturday night I think I prefer Moussin interpretation more poetic, and pdd with Martinez was magic !
  24. Alexandra, thanks for your comment, but I don't make a translation of what I wrote on CD, I really wrote an original comments in english without using translation system. It's for that I couldn't note "write on CD". The comments are the same in their deep side, but not word for word. i don't know all the English equivalent of my French vocabulary and translates a general impression and some deeper comment, but not all the terms ! Yes Marc, I'm a few hard, but I know Emmanuel Thibaut since he is in School of ballet, as too many people I found him very promising when he was at School and when he enters in corps, I think he was premier danseur, or etoile, especially he raise very quickly the Sujet level in three years. But I think and I'm not the lonely person, that he has not the required qualities to become premier danseur. As each year, too many people said that it's unfair that he is not premier danseur, I think it's normal with these kind of prestation. It's that what I wanted too say, perhaps a few hardly ! So my conclusions were not for ONE lonely performance of Rubies but for all I see of him (and Rubies it was not a single divertissement but a complete ballet), even it appears like that . I hope you could see him if you come to Paris to judge yourself his qualities ;) !
  25. I write what I feel after the performance of this afternoon. I don't really enjoy this performance and I explain why. I don't criticize any dancer badly. And concerning rubies, we are too many ballet lovers this afternoon to have exactly the same opinion about the couple Emmanuel Thibault and Nolwenn Daniel. I insist about Thibault because Marc of Kirov topic wanted to know how he was after some polemics discussion. Perhaps my purpose could seem more tendancious or hard because I write with the vocabulary I know and it's not always the true word to explain something good. I could use an hardest word than wanted. I'm sorry if my purpose seem tendancious, it's really what I feel and nothing all ! I want add something about Emmanuel Thibault, he technically danced very well this afternoon, he is musical, he was a good partner technically speaking, but I'm sorry to not have feel something, and I was surprised that audience who always love Emmanuel and hard clap his performance, don't applause too many. I was very surprised about it especially that in France since the beginning of Jewels performance it's always the part the most applaused. Today it was Diamonds who have several curtain and was the most applaused !
