The JKO School is giving it's ,i guess,1st yearend student performance on March26,2007 at 7PM at The Ailey Citigroup Theatre, according to the ABT website(in the news section).

Beck Hen M Copeland and J Matthews are representing ABT at the E BrunhPrize. They will dance the PDD from Sleeping Beauty. Joe

Just noticed a change in the cast of La Bayadere. M Gomes is now partnering V Part and David H. Is with P Herrera which seems to be a better match. Joe

John Prinz danced it with Natalia makarova. Joe

Gelsey kirkland could help in the staging /coaching of "leaves are fading'".I never saw her in Lilac Garden but imagined her Caroline would be great. Joe

David H. as Othello? I can't imagine him in this role but then i was also not sure that he could do " Death" in The Green Room.Maybe, he will surprise us again. Joe

Carbro, Wasn't there a talk of a 4th week a couple of seasons ago? I thought there was a foundation that was funding the 4th week. Joe

Years ago,when Le Corsaire was new,they used to list the main cast including the" Odalisques".. and "lead pirate woman". At least, you knew that your favorite corp dancer is dancing soloist roles. Speaking of soloists, it is just a week or so from openning night but there are still no news of promotions. Maybe there won't be any. Why promote someone(like V. Part) to a principal dancer when she can do principal roles while still a soloist. Joe

ABT is probably the only major American ballet company that do not list the soloists cast in thier website.Is it because they do not have anyone maintaining /updating the website? Joe

Do you have to be a professional dancer/student to view these tapes? Joe

Paul, I have seen "sansho.." many years ago but i still remember it.I agree, it is one of most heartbreaking films ever. I'm not sure if this was directed by Mizogushi but "When a woman goes up the stairs"(?) was avery good Japanese film that i have seen years ago. Joe

I have read a writeup on Zack Brown a while back. He said his ultimate ambition(or something like that) was to design a production of Sleeping Beauty.I would vote for Desmond Heeley though but didn't he retire from ballet designing? Joe

I'm just excited on what she could do in coaching the ladies( and the men) in preparing for the needed style in Sleeping Beauty.I hope ABT gives her the time for rehearsal/coaching sessions(which she always claimed that she did not get enough when she was dancing with them). jOE

Artem Shpilevsky danced at the YGP gala with J Kent and V Part earlier this year.The NYT reviewer was not too impressed. Joe

If ABT will revive the full lenght La Bayadere,maybe,they will ask N Makarova to stage a new "S Beauty".She staged the previous not -very well -received RB production. Joe

The ABT website has updated the dancer roster, removing the pictures of departing dancers. There are still no additions or promotions.The soloist level is very sparse.I guess promotions will be forthcoming.Any ideas? Joe

The Mozart program includes a solo for Angel and " the Messenger" with Angel and Wendy Whelan ,both choreographed by C Wheeldon.I wonder if we will see these program here in NY. Joe

In the OCPAC announcement for the 2007 ABT season, they mentioned that ABT is performing a new "full-lenght favorite direct from it's premiere at the Met".I hope it is Sleeping Beauty. Joe
