The season is only 2 weeks?I thought there were plans to extend the season to 4 weeks.Ballo and Leaves are fading are something to look forward to.

I hope ABT can convince Alessandra to do another R and J before her soldout farewell.

In Dowell's production for the Royal Ballet Carabosse also simply handed a spindle to Aurora. She may have been warned about playing with spindles but she probably had never seen one before to realize the danger. In the Kirov 1890-reconstruction, Carabosse also just hands the spindle to Aurora.

But shouldn't a reviewer try to spread the different performances to be seen and not just review what he "likes?

I'm surprised, that after these two terrific performances of VP, Kevin Mc still has not announced her deserved promotion to principal dancer. Maybe, he is waiting for her Aurora.

Gelsey's mad scene in Giselle w'/ Barysnikov when ABT had a season at the Uris theatre ( not sure what the current name of the theatre now) in the 70's and M Van Hamel- P Bissel's 4th act of the Blair-staging of Swan Lake at the Met. I don't recall of "crying" lately but the end of La Bayadere with Nikiya guiding Solor up the stairs to heaven always leaves a lump in my throat.

I know Herman is incomparable as the Golden(or is it Bronze) Idol but who did the role on the other performances?

After reading all these great reviews, i'm kicking myself for missing all the Bayadere's performances while being out of town.Reading all these reviews is almost like being there.Please keep them coming.

Dale, That was very interesting.The cast for the fairies' variations seems to be a very promising group. Can you remember who was doing the different variations? With M Wiles doing Lilac Fairy during the openning night gala, we have an idea of the world premiere cast.

I have read somewhere(Dance mag?) that they take classes and are privately coached by David Howard

Did anyone attend the Guggenheim's "Work and Process" last Sunday-Monday?K Mckenzie and gelsey Kirkland were going to discuss the new SB for ABT.Any reports,please.

The City Center stage seems small for the Shades section of La Bayadere although it would probably be interesting to see the soloists closer.

In University of California, Berkley website, for the 2007-08 season, ABT will present Ballo de Regina, Tharp's Baker Dozen and a new ballet by B Millipied of NYCB in November 2007. I hope they will have M Ashley to stage and coach Ballo.I guess G Murphy would be in the 1st cast but could not think of anyone else doing the role.

Anyone went to see it? I know school performances are not to be reviewed but any comments will be appreciated.

Just a thought, Maybe, there was no demand for ABT to stay longer.I'm sure ,for the expense in going there, they would want to stay longer than 1 day.

Although i was very pleased with the "surprise" casting of Veronika thrown to us by ABT, i am a bit disappointed that they did not surprised us with a brave,daring casting of one of the talented member of the corps as Aurora.They are probably playing it safe with this expensive production. Maybe, LA or DC will get the "surprise".

Great news for Veronika!!!Although we usually think of Aurora as as a petite-type of dancer, we must remember that Martine Van Hammel was one of the most memorable Auroras in the previous ABT production. Is Veronika as tall as Martine? Maybe they will finally promote her.

In ABT's Calendar section, V Samodurov is dancing opposite P Herrera in Romeo and Juliet on March 22 and 24.I guess, he is covering for M Gomes.

I'm a bit confused with Violente's variation.If the fairies are wishing the different virtues for Aurora, why wish her this" virtue"( or does Violente have a different meaning)It is my favorite one though.Anyone?Thanks
