I could not believed that ABT did not hire Sae Eun Park when she was w/ the Studio Company. At the rate of her yearly promotion at POB, i will not be surprised if she becomes the 1st Asian Etoile of the POB .

I guess ,it is liked being a runner-up. Maybe, next year, he will do better.

I thought they did very well( in the Bard season) esp Thomas.

After seeing them at the ABT-Bard season, I am adding Gray Davis and Thomas Forster to the list of future soloists.

I was blown away by In The Upper Room. It was exciting to watch until the finale that makes you get up and applaud the dancers.They really deserved the SO that was given to them. The LAF is always lovely to watch.Julie and Marcelo,as always, were very moving but the 2nd PDD was also beautifully done by Isabella and Gray Davis, I don't know if it's a debut but they were just lovely together. The Arron- Yuriko PDD was also lovely. The Fisher Center of. PA in Bard College campus is a beautiful Frank Gehry-designed theatre. It is a beautiful sight in itself.

I also hope that ABT gets M Ashley to coach her.

Stars and Stripes PDD?

They just started rehearsing after the summer break. The casting will probably depend on rehearsals of the new productions/revival.

AM writes that ABT will revive Ashton's Sylvia and produce, for the 1st time, A Month in the Countryat the Met in May.ABT will also do a full-evening of Ratmansky short ballets. Thanks to Mussel for accurately"predicting" the ballets for the spring season.

I love"Sylvia" but would have been happier with "La Fille.." Oh well, maybe, in 2013-14 season.

ABT doesn't do Bard every year, and they performed there last November. They'll be in Barcelona late October. The ABT calendar shows no performances in November at all. The Fisher Center's calendar only goes up to August 2012. I wish they did go to Annandale-on-Hudson every year. The house is packed, the tickets are cheap, and the seating is great! The Bard campus is gorgeous with rolling lawns, stunning fall colours, grazing deer, and bucolic views. In the original announcement of the City Center season, it is mentioned that the revival premiere of The Moor's Pavane will be on October 5 2012 at the Fisher Center.

At least according to the news release on the ABT site, Ratmansky is making three new one-act ballets, all to Shostakovich. The first of the three will premiere at the Center City fall season with the other two premiered in the spring. So that fills an evening. Has ABT released a list for 2013? I can't find that on the ABT site. I thought Mussel was just speculating, based on past experiences (not unreasonably, I might add). mussel has inside info? Full evening of Shostakovich ballets... I am not sure if I can take it.

L Underwood had a recent surgery and has not danced at all this season.

LOL, I second that! I believe it's 'La Karsavina' herself, as we hear her voice on every one of the YouTube curtain-call films that she posts...such as the curtain calls for the SL matinee (Boylston, Simkin) which I posted a few posts back. "BRAAAAAAAHHHHHVOOOOOWWWWW!" Huge laughter seeing these clips, for unexpected reasons! As much as we wish that La Karsavina would tone down her Bravo, I would give her bouquets for posting those curtain calls clips. They are fun to watch.

I could not believe that the season is almost over. Is it too early to think for the 2013 spring season? I hope Kevin will schedule a revival of La Fille Mal Gardee. Herman-Sarah and Daniil-Isabella would be great in it,imo. A Month in the Country would be a great for Diana and Julie/Marcelo and David.

According to the Education andTraining section of the ABT website , 15 graduates are in the ABT corps( including 2 apprentices).

Cornejo did them on Friday, competently though not spectacularly. nobody has matched Mischa B.'s Brises.
