I only bought tickets for Cojocaru Sleeping Beauty so far. Do you all think everything is selling well? The Met is hard to sell out, so I'm thinking rep performances might be easier to get. Am I wrong? Also does anyone think there is a prayer that any same day tickets will show up at the discount atrium? This is a bit OTP . There has been several mentions of Same-Day-Discounted-Dance-Tickets in BT . Where is the discount atrium located and is it like the TKTS for Broadway shows? Thanks.

ABT just announced, in the ABT website, that Bright Stream will be performed at the Kennedy Center season in Jan,2011.

Such a delightful ballet. I hope ABT revives it next year.

The semifinalist list is in the PDL website. There were 2 Americans in the list and several foreign dancers studying in US ballet academies (2 from ABT-JKO,1 from SFB and 1 from Houston ballet school.There were a lot of male dancers in the list this year.

I have not seen it. The revival did not get positive reviews from the NY critics but if you really want to see it (without the >$100 tickets) there are discounted tickets at the TDF website for some future performances.

It would be very interesting to know the other ballerinas. When it was first staged for ABT, the cast was mostly principals and soloists,if i remember correctly.

Good point. I wonder what other members think about the special June 3d performance, where 3 pairs of Basilios/Kitris will be dancing their applicable portion of a single ballet, versus a "regular" performance? Has the ABT done something like this before? I remember one Gala(but don't remember when) where there were 3 Kitris doing the Grand PDD( not together but one after another).

ABT will have a new Nutcracker by A Ratmansky in 2010 according to NYT

I don't recall of any recent foreign-born dancer who has risen so fast in POB. I remember her winning a silver medal in NYIBC a few years ago. If she is promoted to Etoile-status, she would be the ist foreigner to be promoted, i think. The Parisian fans do not seem to be thrilled with this possibility.

Is there any promotions coming? NYCB seems more generous with promoting dancers than ABT. Was it 2 or 3 years ago when the last group of corp members were promoted?

Regarding the TBA Kitri in the 3rd act of the Don Q- Alicia Alonzo Gala, i would not be surprised if Viensay Valdez (of the Cuban ballet) is asked to guest by ABT. Her debut with the Washington Ballet's Don Q got very good reviews.

There are 3 other female soloist-type roles in Dame de Camellas. I imagine the ladies you mentioned will be cast in these roles.

I'm surprised(and disappointed) that N Osipova is not cast as Kitri in any of the Don Q.

Surprisingly, we enjoyed the Millepied piece very much.It,probably, would be even more effective if seen in a bigger space and from an upper seat.Stella was just great in her 2 very different roles.Maria B., Renata, Eric and esp Arron S. were standouts in their solos. i did not like the AF Hall venue. Surely, the Koch Theatre can squeeze ABT for 2 weeks in the fall?

Can't really visualize Murphy as Giselle... Or Maria Ricetto as Myrta. Surely, it's a typo error, i hope. I'm disappointed that Stella is not cast as Giselle. Maybe, at the Met season?
