  1. I have my subscription tickets, though since they moved the show dates from February to July I have been operating under the assumption it may not end up going through. Segerstrom is still not selling their tickets yet. The engagement looks very iffy.
  2. O & V are also casted together in the mixed bills. Any ideas when the box office opens?
  3. I know Boylston was part of the last exchange with RDB, is her debut with MB this coming April part of the current exchange?
  4. Since the Mik engagement is immediately after ABT's fall season, I hope there's no non-compete clause to prevent Vasiliev from performing with the Mik.
  5. Any mention who will ABT send to MB and RDB as part of the exchange? If Boylston's debut with MB as Gamzatti in April is part of the exchange then ABT got a hell of a deal. Whoever at ABT negotiated the exchange the Commerce Department should poach her/him as part of the trade treaty negotiating team.
  6. I think one of the stops will be Costa Mesa with Raymonda. Since MB will be in DC Jan/Feb 2015, I don't know if it will stop in DC for the fall tour.
  7. Montreal tour with LaCotte's Paquita 10/16-19: http://quebec.huffingtonpost.ca/2014/03/05/ballet-opera-de-paris-grands-ballets_n_4907638.html
  8. According to NY Times http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/03/05/paris-opera-ballet-announces-new-season/?ref=dance her last day will be Oct 31, Oct 4 will be the farewell tribute performance, Milliepied will officially take over on 11/1. And 14/15 is the final season programmed by her.
  9. Covent Garden season usually ends around early to mid June, so it seems DC will be the first stop of the tour.
  10. As the situation in Ukraine worsens with the involvement of Russia, the standoff between Russia and the West becomes more likely. I hope the Bolshoi tour doesn't become a collateral damage or a target of boycott. Let's hope for a speedy & peaceful resolution.
  11. They're identified as "See the Music" well in advance.
  12. Promo code 172397 for no-fee online ordering for NYCB at KennCen.
  13. I believe the dynamic pricing takes effect on 4/7, so you only have a week to procrastinate.
  14. I think tattoo and ballet is a topic worth its own thread. May be the mods can spin off the related posts in a separate thread. I am no lawyer I don't even play one on TV. I know NYPD bans its uniformed officers from wearing beards with exemption on religious ground. So I can't see how banning tattoos from ballet is unconstitutional if it provides exemption for religious beliefs but then I am not aware any religions that requires tattoos. I hate tattoos in general and especially on ballet dancers, they are distractions and could even break characters. I think banning tattoos is a valid artistic ground for ballet companies as long as it's non-discriminatory. If a ballet company institutes a no-tattoo policy, existing tattoos can be grandfathered.
  15. I think it's time to start a separate thread for the NYC tour. I can't find it on the LCF site, but the LCF brochure lists the following principals that will participate the NYC tour: Maria Alexandrova Ekaterina Krysanova Anna Nikulina Ekaterina Shipulina Olga Smirnova Maria Vinogradova Svetlana Zakharova Artemy Beliakov Yury Baranov David Hallberg Vladislav Lantratov Mikhail Lobukhin Artem Ovcharenko Ruslan Skvortsov Denis Rodkin Alexander Volchkov Again, no Lunkina.
  16. I hope Ratmansky & Hudson will be faithful to the Ballets Russes/Leon Bakst production.
  17. It'll be even better to use restored Leon Bakst's set and costumes rather than Richard Hudson's design based on Bakst's. But all in all an extremely good news.
  18. Igor Zelensky has been appointed as artistic director for Bavarian State Ballet in Munich effective 9/1/16: http://www.bayerische.staatsoper.de/867-ZG9tPWRvbTImbD1lbg-~staatsballett~staatsballett_aktuell~aktuelles_ballett.html So who will succeed Zelensky at Stanislavsky?
  19. Probably So Cal since Ardani has a long established relationship with OCPAC. When does OCPAC usually announce its new season?
  20. You can skip to 39:20 for the interview but the 2 preceding interviews are quite good too: http://podcast.cbc.ca/mp3/podcasts/qpodcast_20140211_65130.mp3 or http://www.cbc.ca/player/Radio/Q/ID/2436120119/
