  1. Civil court is about monetary damages. Saying Waterbury was "in it for the money" is a way of victim-shaming. If something is brought up in civil court the damages awarded are monetary.
  2. This afternoon's program was very fun. Loved Megan and Joaquin in Tarantella.
  3. You know since this is Miami I am thinking of the Miami Heat. The Miami Heat has very strong role players. Andre Igoudala is a veteran role-player -- he's never been a starter but always a valuable bench contributor. I feel like Kathryn Morgan had they better handled the situation could have been a valuable role player ballerina in Miami, the way Megan LeCrone is for NYCB. It seems Morgan was cast for many prima roles and then pulled out of them. Very poor handling of a talented ballerina.
  4. I'm really confused. Kathryn Morgan's health problems and perhaps weight problems were a known quantity. I feel like Lourdes Lopez could have gaged whether or not she was a good fit for the company before they hired her. ANd then when they hired her Lopez could have assessed the right roles for her instead of casting her and then taking her out of things. this seems like a totally unnecessary case of hurt feelings.
  5. They are so low that the right and moral thing to do as a society is to believe all women. We set a horrible example by victim blaming or questioning the victim's motives. The right thing to do is to believe and support women who are victims of sexual assault.
  6. There are no false accusations of sexual assault. The stigma against the victims is such that false accusations simply do not happen.

  8. Casting came out for three programs: https://www.nycballet.com/season-and-tickets/fall-digital-season/
  9. NYCB paid its dancers for longer than other companies -- ABT has been furloughed for ... well, awhile. They also have a fund set up to pay its dancers and have been actively fundraising through streaming performances. The U.S. for a variety of reasons is not in the position of many European countries which have begun to have live performances again.
  10. Oops. Forgot I edited my post to include him.
  11. Ok people are being unfair here. Skylar, Cassandra, Calvin, Thomas Forster, Ahn, and Aran are excellent artists.
  12. No they're also doing two Saturday matinees.
  13. Has been announced on the NYCB website: https://www.nycballet.com/season-and-tickets/fall-digital-season/ SEPTEMBER 29 - ALL BALANCHINE Program to include Tschaikovsky Pas de Deux, “The Unanswered Question” from Ivesiana, and excerpts from Symphony in C, Liebeslieder Walzer, Episodes, and Stravinsky Violin Concerto. Repertory for the remaining Tuesday evening programs, which will feature both full ballets and excerpts, will include additional works by Balanchine, as well as ballets by NYCB Co-Founding Choreographer Jerome Robbins, Resident Choreographer and Artistic Advisor Justin Peck, and choreographers Ulysses Dove, Lynne Taylor-Corbett, Alexei Ratmansky, and Christopher Wheeldon.
  14. There's a lot of dancers who are taught roles and then the roles are taken away. It happens in every ballet company. Sometimes it's awkward when a dancer posts rehearsal footage on IG and then that same dancer isn't cast. My hunch is that Lourdes knew Kathryn Morgan had a big social media platform and wanted to put her in her place, so to speak. Like "if you want a big starring role in a big company premiere you have to earn it by losing weight." It obviously didn't go over well and since Morgan had a SM platform she spoke openly about what happened. It sounds like a personality conflict + a dancer not being a good fit for a company + an AD who handled a casting reshuffle without much tact.
  15. She teaches now at Ballet West. She mentioned she was making so much money from her social media that she wanted to concentrate on that full time as well as reuniting with her bf who is at Ballet West.
  16. I think she joined her boyfriend and is teaching at Ballet West.
  17. I contacted Ballet Arizona and they said they are fixing the problem asap with the incomplete Sylphide.
  18. This performance is incomplete and cuts off before the finale of the ballet ...
  19. I got the link after emailing ABT with a receipt of my donation.
  20. I forwarded them the email. I'm upset at the lack of organization.
