I saw the matinee yesterday. Laracey was one of the pas de trois in Emeralds-long beautiful lines and epaulment. Applause, bravos, standing ovation were well deserved for Rubies principals.

OR was open rehearsal.

The program lists Kolegeva/Zyuzin for Sat matinee and Esina/Askerov Sat eve.

My favorite performance of Makarova was in the musical On Your Toes. I recollect enjoying her ABT performances.

I define my great American ballerinas as people who I remember from specific performances even decades later: Farrell as Dulcinea, Govrin as Hippolyta. Merrill Ashley in Ballo, Patricia Mcbride and Gelsey Kirkland. Teresa Reichlen. Sarah Mearns in Serenade.

I watched the video link on the Tanaquil Le Clercq thread. Robbins comments on her versatility and the roles he made on her required 5 or 6 dancers to fill.
