  1. I noticed that too. It is probably a typo. My guess is that it should say Ball.
  2. Agreed. Looking forward to Hyltin who seems more of a natural for the role. I haven't seen Scotch more than a handful of times but I have always enjoyed it. As noted the ballerina can make or break it which goes for most ballets.
  3. How right you are! I do not see it listed under the ballets for that program on the main fall page, but I see a blurb at the top of the linked page indicating that duo is replaced by TPDD for those two dates. Talk about confusion! Anyway, thanks! https://www.nycballet.com/season-and-tickets/fall-22
  4. Like everyone else, I've been hunting for the PDFs NYCB used to post and keep up to date with changes. Unfortunately these particular fall, winter and spring PDFs are from the subscription packages mailed out months ago and they are not being updated. I wouldn’t have realized it, except that the fall pdf has the same error (TPDD vs Duo) for the fall’s Masters at Work: Balanchine and Robbins. Duo is correct btw. No idea if anything else is different or has changed as I haven’t checked the pdfs against the website itself. This one just stood out to me. I noticed an even bigger issue when I was buying additional tickets a few days ago. When I used the drop down menu to check for seats for other dates of the same program, it brought up the dates for other seasons with the same program name but which have completely different ballets. It does not tell you the ballets are different. Fortunately I had my subscription material in front of me when buying additional performances and knew they didn’t match. Classic NYCB I and II were a couple I noticed. NYCB re-uses program names all the time, but they should not do so in the same 12 month period if it is going to pull up different ballets that just happen to have the same heading/program name.
  5. If I recall correctly, the MET began closing Family Circle for Wednesday matinees around 2018, although it could have been earlier. I know the Koch theater opens closed tiers as needed (meaning the lower sections begin filling up). I would hope the MET would make Family Circle available if they ran out of seats in the other sections.
  6. I totally agree. Finding my perfect principal cast has become more and more challenging these days. My favorite dancers are often paired with dancers I do not care to see, which of course can ruin the performance for me. I usually choose a ballet for the leads, but thrilling secondary and supporting roles are also important to make the entire performance work. I have a similar issue at NYCB except that it’s their programs vs the dancers. I have trouble getting excited over most of the programs since it’s rare to find three ballets I love (or even two) on the same program. And most of the programs I’m not crazy about are repeated too often. It’s not unusual to see a program just for one great ballet on the program. So for me, compromising has become the norm at both companies, but for totally different reasons.
  7. If you are only seeing one Swan Lake, I’d recommend seeing Shevchenko as she is a stunning Odette/Odile. I’m also looking forward to Royal’s debut as Siegfried. FYI - ABT Fan just posted the pas de trois casting for the Shevchenko/Royal performances.
  8. It's obviously an error. Once in a while ABT or the MET transposes the roles on the casting sheets.
  9. WOW !!!!!!!!! Congratulations to Susan! Loved her as a dancer. And like others on here, it comes as a relief that they chose so wisely.
  10. I agree! I love Peck's Rodeo and look forward to his new full length work set to Copland's music. So sorry to hear about Hyltin’s retirement!!!!!!!
  11. Thank goodness! I didn't realize they updated the website. I received my subscription package yesterday and was finally able to view the season calendars. I felt like a kid in a candy store. I'll have three of everything please!
  12. Wow, I just spent fifteen minutes looking for the calendar section, but as you say it's not there. I usually print copies to mark up. I haven't received my hard copy subscription booklet yet, but hopefully that will contain a calendar. Even so, it really needs to be on their website for everyone's reference.
  13. NYCB has the same number of rep weeks that they had before the fall season was created. They just shuffled things around. Both the winter and spring seasons used to be 8 weeks each for a total of 16 weeks of rep. When New York City Opera no longer required the fall spot, NYCB reduced their winter and spring seasons from 8 to 6 weeks each and moved the remaining 4 weeks to the fall totaling the same 16 weeks of rep.
  14. The total refund for subscriptions and single tickets were posted to my credit card yesterday. If you haven't received it yet, you may want to contact the MET.
  15. I certainly understand that. While somewhat different, we have always donated our tickets back to the Joyce as opposed to the dance company. I'm not talking about cancelled performances, but ones we could not make. It's a wonderful venue and we want them to be able to continue to present the marvelous programs they bring to NY.
  16. Well, I am going to be that person if the spring season is cancelled. I have way too many tickets to even think about having a problem getting my money back. It would be no way to encourage patrons to renew subscriptions as well as buy additional single tickets at the same time which of course is what I did. Who knew? I am banging my head against the wall right now. But to put things in perspective, everyone's health is the most important thing. Aggravation dealing with the Met is just aggravation.
  17. I just looked at ABT's website, and their links provide the information below for cancelled performances (on tour): Durham,NC - For our ABT presentations, most affected ticket buyers who purchased using a credit card should see a credit appear on the charge card account used for purchase within the next 2-3 weeks. This automatic refund includes those that purchased tickets online or by phone with DPAC or Ticketmaster, or in person using a credit card at The Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina Ticket Center at DPAC. If you purchased with cash, please return to the Ticket Center to obtain a refund. For more information, please email DPAC at customerservice@dpacnc.com. Chicago - If you have tickets to an upcoming performance in the next 30 days, the Auditorium Theatre will contact you in the next few days to discuss ticket options. Please be patient as we navigate the next steps, as we are expecting a high volume of inquiries. Abu Dhabi Festival -All pre-sold tickets will be refunded
  18. I totally agree. If done as a credit, it should have no restrictions. But I honestly hope it is not legal to keep the money as a donation, especially when it is a large amount of money at stake. Have you been able to get through and ask to speak with a manager?
  19. Yes, I just saw that they were not offering a refund. The problem with their credits is they expire in one year. I don't know about others, but the number of ballet performances I attend each year varies. I have a hefty amount tied up in ABT (and NYCB tickets) and would hate to be in a position to be forced to make a mandatory donation.
  20. I certainly understand that they are fragile, as are most of the arts organizations, but I certainly hope that they cannot get away with doing this without consent. A friend of mine who subscribes to KC was sent the following for cancelled performances. Seems to me that the Met should be doing the same thing if they want to encourage VOLUNTARY donations. Exchange your tickets for a future date or alternate show (where possible) Donate your tickets, and receive a tax deduction for the total ticket value Exchange your tickets for a Kennedy Center gift certificate, or Receive a full refund for the value of the ticket and associated fees
  21. You bought something (item/service/performance) and have not received it. How on earth could the Met get away with this! Your credit card company can resolve this if you can't. I guess we have this nonsense to look forward to if any ABT performances are cancelled. I received an e-mail from Telecharge the other day saying they would automatically refund to my credit card for theater tickets during the Broadway cancellations recently announced. That's what the Met should be doing.
  22. This is so sad. Danny was such a gorgeous dancer who had so much to give the dance world. My heart goes out to his family.
