  1. Funny; every few days or so it looks as if there has been a new post here; but then there has not. -d-
  2. Oh, my! How annoying! Thank you so much for working so hard to get a handle on this! -d-
  3. I also have this issue. Laptop. Windows 7. Chrome. Not sure when I started seeing the blank page; but it has been for a few days now. When I FIRST click on "forum" (or "ballet talk") button, a VERY QUICK view of the entire page flashes over the screen, but immediately disappears, showing only the blank page. I do not know how to do a screen shot. -d-
  4. (I thought Ciaravola had her "farewell" from POB in February? Or not?) -d-
  5. Very mysterious! I have no real ideas as to who she is, but would it perhaps be an idea to post the question on the sister site, Ballet Talk for Dancers http://dancers.invisionzone.com/ ? I think that more active dancers/parents of dancers are likely to see it there; and if the Mystery Woman teaches in several places and has also guested around the world, perhaps it is more likely that someone there would have seen her recently? (if you do post your query there, I would imagine the board called, "Cross Talk" would be a good place for it. Or?) -d-
  6. Yes! Too true! I was so, so happy to have been able to buy a video of a ballet, many years ago, after I stopped dancing and had a video-player. Now..... Geez! Are we spoiled, or what!? I am not complaining too loudly - I will be seeing another ballet, live, on the night of the 15th. -d-
  7. Yeah, that is really too bad! I may be able to see the one in June; but sadly not the one in March. -d-
  8. Cool! That last short film reminds me of my brothers, who used to bang out rhythms and make "beat-box" sounds on long car journeys. (back in the stone-age) -d-
  9. Interesting! Thanks for posting. Were those "characters" from many different ballets in there? I admit to being a bit miffed by the running commentary by those speakers; as if it were a sports-event. Oh, wait, it was a sports event. I think that is one of the main reasons I dislike sports events. The constant, loud blathering of some very opinionated people gets on my nerves. ;) -d-
  10. ah, yes, the "Carmen" film is where I got to know about him the first time. A wonderful musician. He will be sorely missed. -d-
  11. How very sad. I am glad she was not in apparent pain nor alone. May her family and friends find comfort. -d-
  12. Ah, I am very sorry to hear this. I hope he did not suffer pain, fear or loneliness. He was not old! I was privileged to have seen him dance with Makarova in San Francisco shortly before I left the USA when I was a young teenager many decades ago. I remember being very impressed by both of them. May he always be lovingly remembered and may his family and friends find consolation. -d-
  13. Thank you for this! Lovely. Will there be a dvd to buy? If so, where? -d-
  14. As a young child in the 60s I grew up listening (and dancing) to Pete Seeger (and others in the same "vein") on LPs and '45s. I am glad he was around as long as he was and that he kept on singing and saying what needs to be sung and said. We need more like him. -d-
  15. Oh, lovely! Thank you for posting! I am constantly reminded of how much I appreciate the excellent composition and use of "negative space" in many of these works. (I have seen a number before in other places) Not to mention the gorgeous rendition and the ideas for costumes. Ah, what one could do if one had the resources! -d-
  16. Thank you from me, too - I have greatly enjoyed this and its sister site over the years! All those who make this possible are wonderful and generous to do so! Thank you, thank you! And a very happy, healthy, inspirational New Year! -d-
