I forgot about Cornejo's injury. Hopefully they'll work out their kinks by their second performance.

Lane would be a natural and gorgeous Juliet but Mckenzie clearly doesn't like her.

Yes, this was the first performance for Lane/Cornejo. They should have been given a show in CA when it premiered.

It was on at 9:30am this morning. They were adorable and their awe over the show's success and the attention they're getting was so evident.

Thank you to everyone who posted the farewell bows. It was nice to see Gorak and Radetsky come out for Reyes since soloists are usually not included. Yeah, what an icy greeting she gave Mckenzie. She was so gracious to everyone else and I loved that she gave them all a flower.

That's the ABT way. I'm sure this was stressful for her but better they gave her a cram course than import someone else. Kudos to her!

I get the sense that Macauley is sometimes more concerned with making sure readers know how smart he is (and demonstrating how deep his ballet knowledge is) than writing an actual performance review.

Teuscher danced Myrtha during last year's Met season too.

I thought the dancer he was referring to was Ethan Steifel. Regardless, I too was shocked and almost wrote a letter to the Times to complain. I decided I was too angry to write anything appropriate.

I am waiting with baited breath to hear about Abrera's Giselle tonight. I so wish I could be there. Will be anxiously awaiting all of the detailed reviews.

As many have said, these cast changes are mind boggling. It would have been one thing if it were say Murphy who was filling in for all of those performances (a super strong and capable principal), but even for her that kind of work load is dangerous. I can't imagine Seo handling all of that, and without getting injured. Does McKenzie think if he works her like a dog, she'll finally get stronger? Or does he see no fault with her and thinks we all feel the same? It's a terrible shame that a few soloists (and even Boylston) aren't given some of these opportunities. I'm just glad I haven't bought any tickets yet....

Sarah Lane performed O/O with Angel Corella at Barcelona Ballet a few years ago. I would love, love, love to see her as Juliet.

I think my eyeballs just fell out of my head. Stella is finally getting Giselle?!

That is my fear too, especially once we see who is promoted or not (and hired or not) to fill the 3 principal female spots soon to open up.

It is Abrera who has danced Myrtha in Giselle with ABT, not Lane. This is stated on ABT's site.

I didn't say that Copeland did this show to gain artistic credibility. I merely stated that she was a judge on the show. But, how do you know her intentions behind her appearance? Did she state them in an interview or in print somewhere? I'd be interested to know.

Copeland has been a guest judge on the reality TV show So You Think You Can Dance.

Abrera still regularly dances Myrtha. She's scheduled to perform it again on May 26 and 27. Copeland definitely gets preferential casting out of all of the other female soloists now. I don't need to repeat what Amour and Abatt have already stated, but she is getting the wealth of new principal roles, not Lane or Abrera.
