The POB etoile has announced to a Japanese dance magazine that her farewell performance will be Manon with Josua Hoffalt, sometime in January 2014.

I suppose it had to happen, but she will only be 41 in 2014, wheras in USA this year she said two and a half years. It will just not be the same at the POB without Aurelie there. I saw her dance Manon this year,, with Josua as Des Grieux and her husband Jeremie Belingard as Lescaut, and it was fantastic.
Hopefully she will come back as a guest artist for a few performances.

So that same year Agnès Letestu will also be retiring? I can't help but say it will definitely be a rough year for POB. These two dancers are in my opinion the ones that brought something special to POB, worthy of being called an étoile. With Marie-Agnes Gillot left, I don't think the other ballerinas have achieved that same level of quality (yet). When I see Aurelie, I really see a textbook example of a ballerina. Not only by her technique, but more about her 'air': the elegance, sophistication, grace, refineness. Agnes Letestu hits the nail in the interview with Marc Haegeman:

[font=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][size=2]I think an étoile brings something extra, personality, an aura

There seems to be some changes to Aurelie retiring with Manon in January 2014 (which was  wrong anyway)Now the calendar for the 2014/2015 season has been announced by POB, the production is not performed until April/May 2015. If I remember correctly she told  me when I met her after Le Parc, she did not have a lot to do next season. Hopefully this will be clarified after the  various distributions are announced.

Well we all now know what the near future at least holds for Aurelie, she has been promoted to Ballet Mistress, after Laurent Hiliare's departure. which will be filled by Clotilde Vayer, the current Ballet Mistress. leaving the position vacant for Aurelie. I think this is good news, giving her the chance to make her mark on performances.
