miliosr
David Bowie has died at the age of 69. (He had just turned 69 on January 8th.) Somehow, I thought he would live to a very old age and would be, like Marcel Duchamp, an eminence grise in New York for succeeding generations. But then, I thought that about Lou Reed and that didn't come to pass either. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, the model Iman, and his two children. Link to comment
Helene
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/david-bowie-dead-legendary-artist-854364 We were just listening to his new album last night... Rest in peace, Mr. Bowie. Link to comment
pherank
I was quite shocked to see this reported on the NY Times site last night. I was sort of hoping he would be around for a long, long time. One of the last of the 60s music generation still creating some impressive, unpredictable music. R.I.P. Mr. Bowie - you inspired a legion of people. Link to comment
diane
I, too, was surprised to hear the news this morning here in Germany. I guess we all sort of thought he would "be around forever". He is missed. RIP Starman. -d- Link to comment
