  1. If you follow Sara's twitter, she has been dealing with what sounds like back spasms.
  2. I am so sad that I had let my fourth ring society membership lapse for one season and now will never be able to join society NYCB.
  3. Thanks California! I have been checking TDF regularly, and haven't seen NYCB yet this season. I can not sit through Seven Deadly again, so I won't be going this time. I haven't been at all this season, since the end of 4th ring society and all the weird pricing. I didn't happen to join 4th ring last season, so missed out on Society NYCB. Sandi
  4. Cabro- that's where my shock came from- I get the brochures for NYCB early and didn't see any mention of higher prices for 7 Deadly. When I walked in and saw it- I did a double take! And also, yes- totally unfair that if you want to see VW, you have to pay 7 Deadly prices. BOO!
  5. Went to the NYCB box office today and was kinda shocked that they are charging more for The Seven Deadly Sins... $10 additional per ticket. :-( Also- the gentleman at the box office said that it was selling very well and was sure to sell out.
  6. Katie Morgan has openly discussed her absence on her Twitter account.. does that count?
  7. FYI- Jeff Edwards is working on Billy Elliot as well- as a dance supervisor with the Broadway company. Lovely to have him there!
  8. Often the tdf seats are very close up in the orchestra but way to the sides. My last 3 tdf NYCB visits have been the same seats.
  9. Also- for you soap opera fans.. Lenore Engleman, one of the children is the mother of Eden Riegel- emmy winner for "All My Children" (and later classmate at PCS of Macauley Culkin- small small world!!)
  10. Don't forget Shoshana Rosenfield... :-)
  11. Tiler Peck will be performing on this evening's Dancing with the Stars on their Macy's stars of Dance segment. I have given up watching this show, but will tune in tonight to see Tiler!
  12. Cabro, thanks for that link- I look forward to reading the interview. I also agree about her talent and joy for dancing- and I also agree about her Diamond. I would love to see her in in strictly athletic roles that do not involve tutus. To each his own! ETA: loved the interview and the one with Tiler Peck as well. Thanks!
  13. And with all due respect Deborah- I do check the casting and try to plan accordingly, but Savannah is cast very often with dancers I am very fond of. I'm simply expressing an opinon. Wonderful to hear that the audience loved her performance in Cortege so much.
  14. I'll add that I saw Ashley's first performance and Katie's debut- and loved them both. I got to see Sara Mearns both nights as well- sad that Rebecca Krohn was out- but LOVE Sara's Lilac Fairy. I think I enjoyed Tyler as the prince more, but I was also sitting closer, so it could be that I just saw more face? Chase Findlay blew my mind as Gold! I have to say that in all of both casts, my only real dissapointment was Savannah Lowrey. I just don't "get" her in this company- she really stands out and not in a good way. I really don't enjoy watching her in anything remotely classical, especially next to lovely dancers like Ashley Laracey and Lauren King as Ruby and Emerald. My friend who is totally new to NYCB also said to me- "who's that? she doesn't fit in". She's a very athletic and accomplished dancer, but I just don't enjoy her performances. Wish I could have seen Hyltin- I'm a big fan of her dancing.
  15. Susan- I just saw that! Makes her debut even more incredibly accomplished to me. I'm so tempted to go see if I can get half price tickets for her second show tonight.
  16. Also, I'm not sure what dates, but according to Kathryn Morgan's twitter, she will be dancing Aurora in the second week of the run. I'm very excited to see that!
  17. I also saw several performances of R&J on TDF's website- if you're a member. I am- but have no desire to see R&J! I hope they offer tdf tickets to sleeping beauty and more of the season.
  18. I don't really follow twitter, but for those of you wondering- Katie Morgan "tweeted" that Tiler Peck is taking her role in Who Cares? and that Anna Sophia Scheller is taking the role Tiler was dancing(I think she said the blue girl).
  19. I know! I don't want to waste money on a ticket and only see half of what I paid for, but I really do not want to sit through the Martins again.
  20. Deborah, I totally agree- I don't have a subsciption, but I am not really interested in seeing the story ballets- and after seeing the new Martins at the Gala, I don't want to sit through that again... leaving not much for me to see this winter. I guess casting might draw me to certain performances- we'll see.
  21. ok- I looked it up as well- thanks for the answers. It was Alina Cojucaru- who I am well aware is not a student! lol. She did look very young though. ;-) Sandi
  22. Hi, I'm watching the Royal Opera House Nutcracker on Ovation (that's what they call it- is it the Royal Ballet?) and I'm wondering if the young woman dancing Clara/Marie is a studen or a member of the company. I'm always confused by how different companies do this- she is definitely young but doing quite a bit of dancing on pointe- which I know students are capabale of, but it seems like a lot to be resting on a student's shoulders. Thanks, Sandi
  23. Oy. The Adams music to the Martins piece made me want to hold my ears and run screaming from the theatre- especially the very long repetitive first section. What an unpleasant ending to the evening- and a waste of wonderful dancers. Very much enjoyed Concerto DSCH, and would have MUCH rather have watched our own dancers dancing rubies!
  24. Hi- It's being reported on Broadwayworld.com that Stephen Hanna, who has been playing the older "Billy" in Billy Elliott on Broadway, will return to NYCB as a guest artist for this coming season. He will leave Billy Elliott in October. I don't know how to post a link!
