canbelto
I thought it would be cool if we compiled a list of famous teachers at the Vaganova Academy, and their most prominent pupils. These are the ones I know off the top of my head: Agrippina Vaganova: Natalia Dudinskaya, Irina Kolpakova, Galina Ulanova, Marina Semyonova, Olga Moiseyva, Alla Shelest, Alla Osipenko Natalia Dudinskaya: Uliana Lopatkina, Anastasia Volchokova, Veronika Ivanova, Irina Zhelonkina Inna Zubkovskaya: Altynai Asylmuratova, Veronika Part, Elvira Tarassova Ninel Kurgapkina: Zhanna Ayupova Ludmila Kovaleva: Diana Vishneva Marina Vasileva: Yulia Makhalina, Olesia Novikova, Evgenia Obratsova, Victoria Tereshkina Elena Evteyeva: Svetlana Zakharova, Daria Pavlenko (I believe they graduated the same year!) Alexander Pushkin: Rudolf Nureyev, Yuri Soloviev Anyone know of any more? Link to comment
Helene
Although she never taught him, according to Valeri Panov's memoir, Vaganova discovered him just before she died, after Panov's mother wheedled him into being in a position to be discovered. Link to comment
sandik
Off the top of my head -- didn't Baryshnikov study with Pushkin? Link to comment
canbelto
Now that I remember yes he did. I don't think Baryshnikov went to the Vaganova until he was 15, and Nureyev didn't enter the Vaganova until he was 17. Link to comment
Marga
Baryshnikov was just turning 16, his birthday being at the end of January, when he joined Pushkin's class in 1964. Link to comment
Hans
I might be mistaken, but I think Oleg Vinogradov was a Pushkin pupil, too. It is very interesting to look at this list and see who studied under whom! Who taught Sizova? Link to comment
Fraildove
I believe that Natalia Kamkova taught her. Link to comment

In fact, Mrss Irina is one of my instructors, as well as her husband Vadim Fedotov and their daughter Katerina Fedotova. It's pretty awesome to know them personally, they've taught me so much!
