  2. The big news is Ratmansky's reconstructed Swan Lake no more, it goes back to Nureyev's version. Did Ratmansky and La Scala have a falling out? I wish ABT would pick it up and alternate it with Kevin's version instead of the same old same old every year. But I doubt Kevin would want to cut into his royalty income. Here's the 2019/20 reps: Sylvia - Legris staging co-production with Vienna Van Manen/Petit mixed reps Madina - new full length commission R&J - MacMillan Swan Lake - Nureyev Lady of Camelia Nutcracker - Balanchine http://www.teatroallascala.org/en/season/2019-2020/balletto/index.html

It has toured 96 successful performances in Europe and Australia since December 2015. Featuring principal dancers Wu Husheng and Qi Bingxue as well as international guest stars, the Grand Swan Lake, with more than 80 dancers’ participation, will follow the timeless tragic love story of Princess Odette and Prince Siegfried and feature the timeless music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, played live by the New York City Ballet Orchestra, and conducted by Charles Barker from American Ballet Theatre."
  8. How are the sightlines at the Auditorium Theater? Any sections or seats to avoid? I am thinking of front balcony, any seats there to avoid?
  9. Roddy Doble (formerly with ABT before joining BB) is also leaving, for Les Grand Ballets Canadiens of Montreal as a principal dancer.
  10. WOW! I am really shocked and dismayed by the number of Ashton. only 2, or 45 minutes in total, and only one on the main stage. Sarasota performs more Ashton in one day.

  14. Yes, it's a typo, I meant to type 2020. Maybe the mod can correct the title.

  20. I don't think it's going to be ABT's Lake or Beauty as it did both 3-4 years ago at KC. Just my guess, NYCB for Scotch Symphony, ABT for R&J, Bolshoi for Swan Lake, Mariinsky for Sleeping Beauty. I hope Bolshoi won't bring Ratmansky's R&J as I've seen it with Toronto. I assume Bolshoi will be in Chicago also.
  21. The new season is soon to be announced, the Center posted hints of the upcoming season on its FB page. Looks like it's going to be Swan Lake, R&J, Sleeping Beauty, Scotch Symphony...

  23. I guess Bouder is not entirely happy with the appointments. While Mearns offered praise and congratulations to both Whelan and Stafford, Bouder didn't mention Stafford at all
