  1. Based on an app devised by a Silicon Valley engineer friend, with data from the past 40 Met seasons, and also scanning current internet information, the app predicts the following 2017 Met season: Onegin Giselle Swan Lake Sleeping Beauty Don Q R & J The Golden Cockerel (1/2 week) Schlagobers (2 acts full length with music by Richard Strauss) If the prediction is correct, the remaining 1/2 week will probably be mixed reps.

  3. Yes I was thinking of female dancers with black African descent, not whites born or raised in Africa. There doesn't seem to be much fuss about a black dancer made principal at the RB like the way Misty made headlines all over the world when she became an ABT principal.
  4. Congratulation to all! I am surprised and disappointed Yuhui Choe not being promoted. Is Hayward the first African-descent principal at RB?
  5. Life time employment, full pension at 42 1/2. That's a lot to give up to move to Boston.
  6. I thought European countries have a much higher level of employee protection than the US, that employees can't be easily dismissed. May be there's an artistic clause exception in the case of theater? I am surprised to find out Bavarian State Ballet's budget is only a small fraction of NYCB's or ABT's.

  15. They did Ballet Imperial (paired with La Sylphide) this past winter season, I agree it should be performed more often. I recall seeing Scotch Symphony long time ago.

  18. Chances are those people don't work for ABT, they work for some outside fundraising firms the company hired, they get a certain percentage for every dollar they raise. So if you want to give to the company, call or send a check directly to the company.
  19. I don't think it's going to happen this year or ever. I was looking forward to a repeat, too bad.
  20. If I remember correctly (saw it with PNB at CC), the set is just several white movable panels, so I can't imagine it's expensive to transport, at least not on the scale of ABT's Beauty.

  23. I am glad to know the moving up of the spring season by 2 weeks seems to be permanent not just one-off this year to accommodate the Paris tour. Less overlap with ABT!
  24. I exchanged my tickets today at the Met and was able to buy additional single tickets and picked my own seats. I don't know if they changed the policy or they didn't allow single ticket sales on the first day of exchange. The ticket agent was very friendly and helpful, he's the one with goatee and dark short hair. If he's on duty I always wait for him to serve me. Anyway, if you've exchanged your tickets already, you can still buy single tickets before the box office opens to general public this Sunday, just tell them your subscribers id number.
