why are they calling onegin a company premiere?  didnt they do it about 12 yrs ago?

yes - only off by a year - this is what their site says:

Onegin was given its Company Premiere by American Ballet Theatre on June 1, 2001, danced by Julie Kent (Tatiana), Robert Hill (Onegin), Vladimir Malakhov (Lensky), and Maria Riccetto (Olga).

even further - okay, i see it's got new designs, so it's a new production, but not a company premiere?

Wasn't Gomes originally scheduled to do Ali the Slave at the July 4 performance?

Yes, he was.  Very sorry that we won't be seeing him in the role.  Still, he works quite hard enough as it is!

But look at the schedule now: Vasiliev dancing Ali four days in a row? Even for someone as strong as he is, this is insane.

I'm less worried about Vasiliev's four consecutive Ali's than I am about Steifel's Ali's on Monday and Saturday.
