Update from WanTing Zhao on February 7th:

Ten months post-knee injury and I’m happy with where I’m at! 🎉Still not perfect, but almost there. Keep pushing forward; the end is in sight. 💫

She also posted a photo of her and Lonnie Weeks attending a Nutcracker performance - both dressed to the nines - and Lonnie was wearing a boot, so that's what has been going on with him:

Pre-sale email to subscribers notes some guest artists for the Swan Lake encore, including Natalia Osipova (Royal Ballet), Daniel Camargo (ABT), and Jacopo Tissi (Dutch National Ballet).

I got the email announcement as well and  it said that tickets will go on sale to the general public on March 4. The guest artists will dance with company members.  The dates each guest is dancing are not yet announced, which is particularly hard on the many people who will want to see Osipova.

Ha, I am one of those, very interested in seeing Osipova (this, after I swore no more Swan Lake for the season!).

I am interested in seeing her as well, mainly out of curiosity to see her in the role, and so will check for a good ticket once the casting is announced, but I have seen this Swan Lake production five times this season,  and I am  not keen on seeing  her alleged partner  a second time.  I saw Tissi years ago when he first started dancing with the Bolshoi and very much liked him, and Camargo is also outstanding, but, again, I want to know with whom they are sharing the stage.

Isaac Hernandez is leaving SFB.

Sorry to hear this -- I was quite taken by his dancing and thought he brought a lot to each performance. Politically, however, I can understand a decision like this. But I'll miss watching him perform.

Ellen Hummel is also now gone. There are details on the following article (which summarizes her and Mathilde Froustey's separate lawsuits).

https://www.sfchronicle.com/entertainment/article/sf-ballet-lawsuit-injury-19715031.php

Anyone know if Henry Sidford is still dancing?

Really sad to hear about the lawsuits. I knew that Froustey had been dealing with various injuries and related medical treatments for years. It's impossible to tell from our perspective how justified the cases are. But I'm not surprised that Hummel would be really upset that her career has been ended by injury/surgery. It's kind of natural for her to want to blame someone at this point. But it's a profession that mostly ruins portions of the body over time. A ticking time bomb.

Note that Dr. Richard Gibbs was, I believe, a professional dancer himself once upon a time. And he heads up the SF Free Clinic.

Quite by accident, I discovered that Shinji Eshima's soundtrack to Possokhov's Swimmer is on Spotify.  😀

I always loved the "Twist Knock" music for the pool party scene. And the melancholy "Swim Alone" - heartbreaking to hear this again. It really brings back memories. His music for other ballet/theater works are, however, not available.
