PeggyR Posted August 24, 2014 Share Posted August 24, 2014 Although he was probably best known as a director (Gandhi, Shadowlands), he was also a fine actor whose roles ranged from the commanding ‘Big X’ in one of my all-time favorite movies, The Great Escape (1963), to the milquetoast-ish Billy Savage in Seance on a Wet Afternoon (1964).
