Jane Simpson
Can anyone tell me about this dancer, who was trained in Paris? The last trace of him I can find on the net showed him dancing in Berlin in the mid-1990s. Link to comment
Mme. Hermine
i think i found the same thing you did, Jane, as well as the new york public library having copies of some articles he seems to have co-written? Link to comment
Paul Parish
It's tempting to say that he ran off with Fifi la Vivandiere..... but alas , I can't really help. Link to comment

Estelle
I remember reading an article of his in the late French magazine "Les Saisons de la Danse", in the mid-1990s. It was an interesting article about injuries (the influence of training, why they occur so frequently, etc.) but strangely a second part was announced but never was printed. He mentioned having been interested in that topic after suffering an injury who prevented him from going on stage for several months, and also mentioned working with some Bournonville style teachers, but that's about all I remember (and I don't think the article said with which company he worked). Jane Simpson
Thankyou all - it sounds as if he's no longer dancing, anyway. Link to comment
scherzo
I know this thread is very old, but coincidentally I have just come across a comment posted by Mr de la Caffiniere on a certain video site which says that he is currently teaching Danish School-inspired ballet classes in Paris. Link to comment
Mme. Hermine
From today's NY Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/24/arts/dan...amp;oref=slogin In one recent class, Alexandre de la Caffinière was running 11 students through their steps to music from the third act of Tchaikovsky’s “Sleeping Beauty.” He snapped his fingers and barked orders alternately in English and French.
