  6. Many happy returns, one hopes. Nice pix with this article. Photo gallery, with one picture amusingly mistitled "De Havilland at the Gone with the Wind premiere in 1967."
  7. Beautifully said, Dale. The original demis were Victoria Hall, Jerri Kumery, Nina Fedorova, and Susan Freedman. I looked for their names in the listing of company members in the end credits and they were all there, although I'm not familiar enough with them to identify them in the video, although I thought I saw Fedorova.
  8. For a split second I thought it was Messmer. Wishful thinking, no disrespect to CInquemani intended. I wish they would get rid of those awful de la Renta frocks. Those shapeless schmatte things make the girls look forty, and the others don't look much better. (I do rather enjoy the floofy scarlet number for "Forget Domani.")
  9. I am so, so sorry to hear this. Thanks to rg for passing on this sad news and to Jay Rogoff for his wonderful post. BR seemed to be going forward wonderfully under Mr. Hoshino's editorship and I miss it already. My condolences to Mr. Hoshino's loved ones and friends.
  10. Buddy, it's Adam Luders dancing with Farrell in the waltz sequence from Der Rosenkavalier. Sean Lavery is Kyra Nichols' cavalier in "Tales from the Vienna Woods." All the pieces in the 1983 Balanchine tribute have been available on YouTube before, but never in such pristine form, or as pristine as video from 1983 is ever going to be. I kind of miss Patrick Watson's intros. The jewel of the evening for me is "Mozartiana," with the original cast intact and its small scale is great for the TV screen. It's just a little slice of heaven.
