Thank you, ksk04, for your help with the testing I hope we'll have an answer soon.
-
We've tested (to no avail) and I've restored what I turned off. I'll post again if there's further testing.
-
I'm about to start testing based on tech support's recommendations to troubleshoot an issue some of our members have been having with the site. Things should be turning on and off over the next 15 minutes or so.

I'm about to start testing tech support's recommendations, which will make the board do some strange things for a little while.

Not only week 2, but also the updates to week 1. I guess I was supposed to save the changes... Directors Choice 2014.xls -
Director's Choice: March 14-15, March 20-23 2014

Change from the original casting from last week: Leah Merchant and Seth Orza will make their debut in "Kiss" second weekend (Thursday, 20 March). For second weekend, Angelica Generosa makes her debut in "State of Darkess" on Friday, 21 March. I think she will rock it. If I'm reading the cast lists properly, for two performances second weekend (Thursday, 20 March and Saturday 22 March), Jahna Frantziskonis and Elizabeth Murphy share the part Murphy will do in all other performances, and for the other two performances second weekend (Friday, 21 March and Sunday 23 March) Kaori Nakamura/Jonathan Porretta replace Rachel Foster/James Moore, and Carrie Imler/Charles McCall replace Leah Merchant/Andrew Bartee in the third couple's roles, with Bartee and McCall somehow splitting up the corps role. Or something like that. http://www.pnb.org/Season/13-14/DirectorsChoice/#Casting Updated spreadsheet: See below. Directors Choice 2014.xls -
I've received two screen shots showing a blank home page (forum index). "View New Posts" shows a valid page, but is limited. Is anyone else experiencing this issue, but can access this post through View New Posts? If so, would you please tell me what hardware (PC, Mac, tablet, phone) you are using, the operating system, and the browser? Also if you could see the home page starting Saturday night after 8pm ET (before we launched the fundraiser), but stopped seeing it afterwards, when you first noticed that the home page was missing. I can't find anything in the "Help" files, and I'd like to give tech support the most information possible. If you have the issue, does clearing "invisionzone.com" cookies resolve it?

I missed your post from last fall. A belated welcome to Ballet Alert!

Welcome to Ballet Alert!, Whitey. We'd be happy to try to answer your questions, if they are from the point of view of the audience. If you have questions about becoming a dancer, you're looking for our sister site, Ballet Talk for Dancers: www.dancers.invisionzone.com (BT4D requires separate registration.)

Stanley Williams' Bournonville Divertissements
Helene replied to Michael's topic in New York City Ballet
Croce wrote in her February 14, 1977 review, re-published in "Afterimages" ('pp 260-1), I saw BD in 1982, with Lisa Hess/Jean-Pierre Frohlich, Judith Fugate/Helgi Tomasson, Lourdez Lopez/Stephanie Saland/Kipling Houston, Darci Kistler/Ib Andersen, and Kyra Nichols/Adam Luders. I saw it again in 1988, with Kelly Cass/Michael Byars, Judith Fugate/Carlo Merlo, Lauren Hauser/Shawn Stevens/Patrick Hinson, and my notes say a Pas de Six from Abdullah with Julie Michael/Roma Sosenko/Kathleen Tracey/Margaret Tracey/Peter Boal/Jeffrey Edwards/Gen Horiuchi, which makes no sense, because I logged seven dancers, not six, and note neither Pas de Deux from William Tell or Flower Festival in Genzano. I don't remember traveling long enough during the season to miss BD if it had been performed between 1989-94. The last cast is one I would have expected for Bournonville. The 1982 cast had Kistler and Nichols, but wasn't nearly as tall as the original, which also included Colleen Neary. -
PNB 2014-2015 season, plus Stowell/Sendak "Nutcracker" last
Helene replied to Grace8's topic in Pacific Northwest Ballet
PNB owns the sets and costumes for both "Swan Lake" and "Romeo et Juliette," though. If ticket sales aren't an issue for either, I'm not sure why the swap would be between these two works. RetJ uses fewer students and no guest artists. The big expense -- although not as much as in the PNB premiere -- will be "Don Quixote." RetJ has sold well for PNB, but 2015 would have made it the fourth time shown in seven years (2008, 2009, 2013, 2015), with the Balcony Pas de Deux included in the 2011 "Love Stories" program. -
If you're using the mobile site through a phone or tablet, please scroll to the bottom to use the Full Version. The module that enables our fundraising form isn't available for the mobile version of the software. I apologize that the full site is teeny tiny on a lot of smart phones.

Stanley Williams' Bournonville Divertissements
Helene replied to Michael's topic in New York City Ballet
Balanchine -- or Williams? -- cast tall dancers in it in the past along with shorter dancers like McBride and Hlinka: Nichols and Ashley, Kistler, Farrell. Croce, in her review of the premiere (republished in "Afterimages"), remarked, "It's Farrellized Bournonville--an independent show within a show." She thought that McBride suffered from lack of turnout and ballon, but, by her next review, thought that McBride (and Farrell) had adjusted. Croce also thought that "Ballo della Regina" was an extension of what Ashley had done in "Bournonville Divertissements" in a review published in "Going to the Dance." -
Ballet Alert! and Ballet Talk for Dancers have different registration systems and different policies. BT4D does not accept "free" email addresses, but requires one assigned by an ISP, school, workplace, etc. If you're entering one of these acceptable addresses and are still getting this error message, please write to the "Contact Us" link at the top of the Ballet Talk for Dancers site (not this one).

Dear Members, It is now time for our yearly fundraiser for the monthly hosting fee for both Ballet Alert and Ballet Talk for Dancers, and we need to raise enough money to cover them for the next year. As in the past, we will close the fundraiser when we've made our target, and we will not launch another until our coffers are near empty. We will keep asking until we reach the target. We have set the standard donation at $20, like last year. We will graciously and gratefully accept whatever you can send. It's a drop-down box again. Until our site support HTML5, which allows the data sent from an input box to be recognized as a number by our processor, I won't be able to add a box for custom amounts, which, for now, can only be donated by check. The home page should look like this: You may donate by credit card (American Express, Mastercard, Visa, Discover) through the box in the upper right corner of the home page. You will be redirected to the First Data processing site ("YourPay Connect") to collect your payment details. First Data is one of the world's largest credit card processing sites, and they've secured these pages. For step-by-step instructions, please click here. If you prefer to pay by check, please make them out to to BALLET TALK, as we have a dedicated bank account in that name. We had to combine the two boards for the account, and could not use two separate names, so we decided to just call it Ballet Talk for the banking purposes. Ballet Talk 11165 Abbotts Station Dr. Duluth, GA 30097 THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! Victoria Leigh and Helene Kaplan
