  1. well she was maybe constrained by previous commitments made by Millepied. She managed to get the rights back to POB for Béjart Boléro and she programmed Petit masterpiece Le Jeune homme et la mort for the 2018 US tour, which probably means it will be in her next season. Besides, excerpts from Lifar Suite en blanc will be danced during the Homage to Yvette Chauvire next April
  2. Well the company was to be cut short of 13 dancers (out of 39 !) due to the reduction of the city subvention They finally found a provisional agreement with the city for 2017 which doesn't mean they can save the positions in the future

  4. It's up to Aurélie Dupont. Marc Moreau was second in the last concours.
  5. Female competition results Promoted to coryphée : Camille Bon Promoted to Sujet : Alice Catonnet Promoted to Première Danseuse : Sae Eun Park
  6. Male competition results Promoted to coryphée : Francesco Mura and Thomas Docquir Promoted to Sujet : Paul Marque Promoted to Premier Danseur : Germain Louvet
  7. I haven't seen yet Alexei Ratmansky's reconstruction, but it comes in Paris with La Scala this November 5-13
  8. Very strange that this famous newspaper with this headline mixed Paris Opera and Paris Opera Ballet which is only part of it
  9. Interesting to note that Sonatine will only be danced the October dates, not in November.
  10. It was the Capitol Theatre. POB also danced there in 2007.
  11. I just noticed, as the show will take place at Opéra Bastille, perhaps an admin could change the title of the thread, it could be confusing?
  12. Laurent Hilaire was recently coaching Rome Opera dancers in Preljocaj's Le Parc in May and for the triple Bill "Serata Nureyev" in June
  13. I don't really know if there is such a law but there are children in a lot of productions performing on POB both stages so I don't think it applies to artistic domains
  14. Sophie Delaporte is a fashion photographer especially known for working on colors and contrasts...
  15. No! I'll try next week to report a bit about what's going on onstage after the opening of the Forsythe bill...
  16. The managing style of the school has changed a lot since Claude Bessy with Elisabeth Platel. Aurélie Dupont complained about how hard pupils were treated from a psychological point of view
  17. I was disappointed. They both have strong technique but lack acting skills which impaired the storytelling. Anyway it's good they had the opportunity to dance it, it will give them a wonderful stage experience.
  18. I would have loved to discover this ballet I've never seen but I welcome the Kylian bill all the same. Perhaps it would have been difficult to integrate it with Kylian's that obviously Aurélie Dupont seems to have chosen.
  19. Well the company is running 18 Swan Lake in the same time in Bastille Opera and this bill has 22 shows so it was impossible to have another classic!
  20. Until last year or so, le Figaro was one the official sponsors of the company and was very well known for not reviewing the shows but for writing articles to present them. So more than dance critics, they are rather familiar with spreading gossips. Surely they still got some links
  21. I only saw Dark Elegies in POB. This was the last Tudor performed I think and it was more than 20 years ago. Most of the dancers have retired and they surely didn't start rehearsals for a bill next December., they just started the Balanchine's for next July! I believe on the opposite, the Kylian bill is more than welcome. It's quite common to see in dancers' interviews Kylian is one of the choreographers they want to work with (Mats Ek, and the late Pina Bausch are the other two quite often mentioned) and Kylian is a favorite of the audience as well.
  22. I fully agree with you. It's starting to be worrying.
  23. Chopiniana and MC14/22 in the same bill, this is quite daring ...
  24. Bourdon danced Myrtha in Sydney Australia in 2013. Raveau, Guérineau, Renaud and Paul Marque/Sophie Mayoux are all debuts
