volcanohunter
On Sunday, January 7th, the Bavarian State Ballet will stream Ratmansky's Tchaikovsky Overtures, set to the Hamlet, Tempest and Romeo & Juliet overtures. The stream will be available for 24 hours starting at 10:00 CET (4:00 am Eastern). My guess is that a YouTube link will appear on the site. https://www.staatsoper.de/en/tv trailer: behind the scenes: Link to comment

abatt
This was brilliant. A triumph. When is someone going to present it here in the US. Link to comment
volcanohunter
It certainly helps to have a dancer like Shale Wagman to anchor the piece. The ballet was more literal than I expected, but definitely successful. Link to comment
Helene
What beautiful dancers in the company! Link to comment
Drew
So happy Bavarian State Ballet decided to broadcast this -- and to do it on youtube which meant I could access it on a larger screen. Link to comment
Quiggin
Really enjoyed it the second time, after a quick run through. So many Tchaikovsky overtures and fantasies, like pie fillings without the crust, one after another, often dark and dense – a bit overwhelming. I especially liked the Elegy at the beginning where the corps seem to be describing the dancer's thoughts (Shane Wagman?). Nice that Romeo & Juliet began with the ending first, freeing up the rest of the ballet. Edited January 8 by Quiggin Link to comment
