meunier fan
Saw Frola and Lunkina in Paris and thought they were stunning - together and apart. Certainly the best of the two NBoC casts I saw in this work. This young Italian is definitely a talent to watch and this role suits him down to the ground. Here he is rehearsing the ending (minus the inevitable exhaustion at that point): In many ways I didn't feel the Company presentation was a match on Neumeier's own Hamburg Ballet - but that I suppose was to be expected. That said, Dylan Tedaldi was thrilling as Nijinksky's brother. Enjoy. Edited March 16, 2018 by meunier fan Link to comment

Quinten may be referring to her general impression, but as this recent photo from the Tokyo Ballet Festival attests - she is still very thin: I find over and again, that when people refer to a ballet dancer's 'heavy', or 'fat' appearance, the problem is really an ill-fitting or poorly designed costume. A classic example being the Emeralds and Mozartiana (women's) costumes - the bodice makes the tiniest dancer look wide like a fire hydrant. Edited August 30, 2018 by pherank Link to comment
