sandik
Interesting -- the Firebird costumes are supposedly de-accessioned from the Metropolitan Museum of Art (not sure when), who picked them up in 1969. They look very, very clean and in very good condition for something that was in a touring repertory. Ditto the Scheherezade -- very good shape for a costume that was usually put away wet, if deMille's descriptions of life on the road are accurate. Link to comment
