Mailied
My name is Alexandra and I live in Romania. I've been reading this blog regularly for quite a while now, but have only recently decided to maybe start posting. I got into ballet a few years ago but I can't really attend a lot of live performances as I don't live in a big city. I've only ever seen the great ballets on video and in a couple of performances by a very amateurish company, but i try to keep up with what is happening in the ballet world by reading this forum and as many reviews as I can, as I don't have the chance to see the major companies. This blog has been very helpful for me when I first started watching ballet- I've definitely learned a lot from reading everyone's posts. Quote Link to comment
Helene
Thank you for posting and introducing yourself! A friend who worked in Bucharest several times over the last decade went to the ballet in the city, and he thinks very highly of the company. That was even before Cojocaru and Kobborg have given it higher visibility. I hope you are able to visit occasionally, and if you do, you'll tell us about what you see. Quote Link to comment
sandik
Live dancing is always best, but there's a couple lifetimes worth of video available online now -- you can learn a lot by watching multiple casts of different works. Let us know if you find something that you really love! Quote Link to comment
