Dale
Saw this on an advertisement on NYTimes.com. I loved watching the live Don Giovanni so much, I clicked on it. Siemens, a sponsor, is showing live broadcasts of performances at these festivals. The next streaming broadcast is for Mozart´s "Così fan tutte" at Saltzburg on July 30. The next from Bayreuth is "Tristan and Isolde." If you can't watch it live, there's also a period that you can watch it On Demand: http://w1.siemens.com/entry/cc/en/festivalnight.htm Editing to add that there appears to be some fee. I guess if you don't mind paying.... Link to comment
Helene
There is a different fee for each: 7,90 Euros for the Salzburg and 14,90 Euros for the Bayreuth. The Salzburg is tomorrow, and it starts at 7pm Central Summer Time, or 10am PDT/1pm EDT. The video test states that my bandwidth is not fast enough, but the Bayreuth sample video test was fine. I think an $11 investment is worth it, especially since it's at a reasonable time of day for the live broadcast. Link to comment
