Ok, thank you for this correction. I was wrong!

I just clicked to view the likes, and Roman Mejia and Erica Pereira are among the 7 that first showed up on my screen, without even scrolling down.
Ok, it must show up differently on mine. Didn't see anybody I recognized scrolling down for a while.

It's interesting to note (from what I've seen last I checked), that not even ONE NYCB dancer has even "liked" Bouder's IG post. If I'm wrong please correct me.

Wow. Someone thinks very highly of herself.
Being the "outspoken feminist" is part of how she chooses to brand/market herself. This was an opportunity to appeal to her fan base who loves her for that. Just my opinion, of course.

I'm don't know a lot about ballet. I thought Friday night was a popular night. I would never have known, along with most ballet goers (guessing) that she had been "demoted". I don't understand what she's trying to accomplish with this article. Seems like an internal matter that should have been handled privately.

It is likely that Bouder has never worked anywhere other than NYCB. If she did, she would know that the working world is full of bosses who are tyrannical and unpleasant. This is not unique to NYCB.
Tyrannical? In US companies? Do you have first hand knowledge of this? I'll certainly believe you if you do.

Sad that frustrations have to printed publicly. He sounds like a possessive person. Hope they can get over this hump and drop all of his ballets. No reason they can't do a new version of SB (but that's me being selfish- I didn't enjoy most of his SB).
-
They weren't portraying humans so it didn't bother me; their mannerisms the whole dance were cat-like.
-
Tonight- I loved King as Lilac. Bouder was on point(e)... however this being my first time ever seeing SB, her character is total bore. We don't get to know her...Happy girl has a party-falls asleep- wakes up happy, marries stranger. Okey dokey!
I guess I'm just not a lover of full length story ballets at NYCB; all of the shorter works by Balanchine I'm in love with.
-
That's really sad that she wasn't cast for a whole month. Seems like a failure on the part of the interim team.

Please move this link if it doesn't belong on this thread; wasn't sure where to post it:

Nadon is rather tall. More of a Lilac Fairy type than an Aurora type.
Oh I didn't realize she was tall. I'm seeing her dance for the first time on the 15th (courage fairy I think?). Looking forward to it!
-
If Mira Nadon is as talented as people say...why don't they give her a crack at Aurora? Didn't most of these now 30-somethings dance Aurora in their teens?

Ok, sorry about that. I'll try and find an official source.

I thought the same thing when I saw this.

Could she come back as a soloist with NYCB?

Realize I'm several weeks late, but no, I still don't understand what Balanchine's obsession with Farrell with was "bizarre." Bizarre in what way? Balanchine had fallen in love with young ballerinas before, that was nothing new; he'd done a lot of choreography for them, too. Farrell wasn't the first. I'd just like to know why the Farrell/Balanchine affair was "bizarre," when his others - with LeClerq, Tallchief, etc - weren't.
For the record...I think all of those relationships were "bizarre". He didn't love them in the way we understand love. The master-muse relationship in various art fields has always been a bit bizarre.

"I'm sorry you feel that way. .. "
"I'm sorry that ___ interpreted that way. . ."
Is NOT an apology. But it's a very clever, device to make the person think he/she is hearing an apology. It's slimy IMO.
A non-apology apology. Yup, that's a thing. I've gotten them.
-
I realize it's a turn off that's he's all me me me I did this and that all the time...but that seemed like a great coaching session none the less. Even if he was "only" with NYCB for 7 years; that's still a long time for a ballet dancer. He has coaching value.

The more I read about ABT the more I wonder why any dancer would want to work for them. You dance very little, and only if you're very very lucky will you ever dance a lead role. What is the draw to this company? Don't dancers join companies because they want to, you know, dance!?
-
The board is delusional based on the qoutes in this article. Wake up...you're broke. Time to switch things up.
-
Crazy thought...maybe they'll decide in the end to just keep the interim team in place. Why ruin a good thing just because it's not traditional.

Here's some disqualifying info. from the time of one of his own companies folded.

I think the phrase "a legend in his own mind" applies to Clifford.
Yikes...so he clearly can't run a company. Thanks for this info.
