^^ Agree re: Ulbricht....so underused & sometimes maybe even overlooked by his own company. Maybe that's why he's initiating his own projects outside of NYCB.

It reads like Sebastian got great spotlight last night even from the Instagram replies :-). Hope there's more from him, roles-wise.

Thanks for sharing your experience, Abatt, wish I were able to attend. Were there other NYCB dancers who weren't performing, but were seated at the gala tables to cheer their colleagues on? Trying to find online pictures from the gala also....

NYC Ballet reminds me of that movie Pleasantville. Everything there seems to be so insular and conformist. I feel the same way!

Hope for more roles for Gina - she's been put aside a lot.

I went last night also. The cables failed to lift Puck - did anyone realize this? in the end, he was supposed to levitate and 'sing', but the cables drooped around him instead. Troy Schumacher just played it up as if nothing was wrong, as well as the other butterflies surrounding him.

I am curious & intrigued at how dancers get cast for parts/roles. Do they ask, audition, or hand picked by Martins??? Sorry. Am a ballet novice here.

I see Zachary Catazaro is back in the program.

So judging from what's shared -- perhaps it doesn't look like the JR piece will prevail to become a new NYCB classic, or stick past its 1 week debut. Or maybe they can take it out on the road to find its audience alternatively. oh well. Excited for next week. Got a tkt for the 10th.

Even though there are no nightly shows at this time, are the dancers still rehearsing 10-12 hour days, or are the hours reduced to the standard 8?

There are 4 vacancies now that Jenifer, Jonathon, Sebastian & Janie have left. Does Peter have final say on who, what, when on promotions ?
