  4. Thank you all for these wonderful reports! Excited about the new mommies, Maria & Anthony!
  5. Excited to hear also. I bet they killed!! :-)
  6. ugh, I wish I could go to any of the performances this season, but budgets all point to finishing school right now. LOVE reading all of your reports!!! & yes to hoping Anthony Huxley gets his promotion.
  7. Oh MY. Poor Zach - guess he really flaked this opportunity. Good to know Adrian DW rocked it.
  8. Zach as Apollo??? That's wonderful!!!
  9. Fully agree w/ you re: Janzen for Apollo. Besides, he's also a really nice guy (have met him)
  10. Andy would be fab for La Sylphide. He's such a great jumper.
  11. Oh my- Romeo & Juliet sounds lousy no matter who is casted on the title roles :-/
  12. Not sure this is the right place to put this, but Brian Seibert reviewed the debuts here: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/02/arts/dance/in-city-ballets-nutcracker-an-ever-changing-menu.html?_r=0 thanks
  13. Hod was GREAT on Agon this past Spring. She has great potential to do Soloist work.
  14. https://epicuire.wordpress.com/ wish he'd continue blogging, but looks like ballet-principal-bound is his priority now.
  15. wow....didn't sound like a fulfilling show & not surprised to read Sara creamed it as Dewdrop. didn't Lauren do Sugarplum & Chase do Cavalier before? sounded like an underwhelming performance from both. I think they have but still "underwhelming" is exactly the right word to describe their performance. I think having a star (Sara) next to them only highlighted the deficiencies in their performance. And Chase (despite his obvious partnering problems) was better than Lauren. She was the real disappointment. I know they're grooming her for principal but IMO she's definitely not ready yet. I don't get the feeling either.
  16. I think Ashley Hod is another one w/ strong potential. Looking forward to her debut as Dewdrop.
  17. Yep. the 28th looks good w/ a lot of new names taking over new roles for the first time. especially looking forward to seeing Jansen in the Cavalier role, & what else is in store for him in Winter Season.

  19. He's nominated for the Clive Barnes Foundation. Other nominees are: Christoper Bloom (Ballet Hispanico), Russell Janzen and Harrison Ball (NYCB), and Devon Teuscher (ABT).
  20. Also saw other Principals like Daniel Ulbricht, Maria Kowrowski, Zach Catazaro doing Nutcracker w/ other companies at other theatres - are guest appearances w/ other ballet companies a common collaboration?
  21. Thanks, Cobweb. Can't see myself paying over $100 at this point for 1 show - hope to nab the partial views instead. The casting sheet seems wonky w/ all the name changes, but that's the way things go - not the same as what I thought I read over a wk back. Drew - I was wondering the same thing too re: prices.
  22. Cobweb, how much was your seats?
