Dale
According to the NYCB press department, Nikolaj Hubbe underwent surgery on his knee and is "walking around." Millepied and Neal, replaced in roles this week, are just getting a rest. No word yet on Robert Tewsley's height. Link to comment

I guess taller than Jock could mean tall. Best wishes to Nikolaj. Link to comment
Alexandra
Thanks very much for checking, Dale. I'm glad you asked about Millepied and Neal, as well -- now we won't have to worry about them. Link to comment
Farrell Fan
Hasn't Hubbe had knee surgery a couple of times in the past? Link to comment
Alexandra
I know he has had knee surgery once. I don't know of any others (that doesn't mean there aren't any; I just can't verify them). Link to comment
Juliet
This isn't gossip. Hubbe has had surgery on both knees and a hip. I am sending him all sorts of get well wishes as I look forward to his return in the spring almost as much as I do the daffodils ;) Robert Tewsley is tall. Not as tall as Askegard, but at least 6' and maybe 6'1"..... I would like them to do Sleeping Beauty and then we could two perfect Princes in Hubbe and Tewsley...... Link to comment
carbro
. . . and Boal, who, though shorter, is a natural born prince . . . I mean Prince! Link to comment
Alexandra
I agree about short Princes -- part of it is carriage and part of it is attitude. Two of the most famous danseurs nobles who were "too short" were Erik Bruhn and Rudolf Nureyev. They may not have been 5'11 or taller, but when they were on stage, you were In The Presence. Leigh Witchel
I saw Tewsley today walking - Juliet's right and I'm wrong. He's a few inches taller than me (I'm between 5'9 and 5'10 depending on my mood and resume ) Link to comment
Alexandra
Then what are Hubbe and Tewsley doing in the third movement of Symphony in C? Rhetorical question, of course. Link to comment
carbro
Partnering Janie, who is no Thumbelina. The question would be, What's Taylor doing in Third Movement? That's the issue. Link to comment
Dale
When Tewsley guested with the company a few years ago, he partnered Somogyi in the third movement. She's gone on to the first movement and I wish he would too, instead of having N. Martins do the role. Bouder and Millepied were fantastic together in the third movement last year. With Bouder out right now, I'd love to see a dancer such as Carrie Lee Riggins in the part, partnered by Carmenia. It wasn't so long ago Riggins was doing a few solo parts here and there, like Winter in Four Seasons, and gave nicely detailed performances. Link to comment
Calliope
Dale any word on touring information for the company in summer/fall? I believe there was a link about the company going to Moscow? Link to comment
Dale
Calliope, I too had read NYCB was going to Russia this summer. I will try to get confirmation from the company. Link to comment

KayDenmark
Dates in Copenhagen have been announced for September and tickets are on sale. According to an interview with Peter Martins in the newspaper Politiken, these shows will include up to 70 dancers, and are part of a tour that will include St. Petersburg. Link to comment
Michael
I vote for Tewsley and Somogyi in Third Movement. I've thought Somogyi somewhat miscast in 1st, wishing to see someone with a little more classic physique, build and presence there, leading the first cohort. And they were perfect together in 3d movement two years ago. Link to comment
