sneds
Hi! Next week's Nutcracker casting has been posted and there are some interesting debuts. Jonathan Stafford is the newest Mother Ginger, and James Fayette and Adam Hendrickson (!) are debuting as Drosselmeyer (sp?). The two dancers still not being cast are Millipied and Weese. Does anyone know if they are injured, or just dancing elsewhere in the beginning of December? Kate Link to comment

dancergal
I never thought of Jonathan Stafford playing Mother Ginger... he just tought two classes I had the other day, and I can't really see him as Mother Ginger without giggling. Has anyone seen him perform yet? If so, how did he do? Link to comment
Terry
Does anyone know when Sofiane Sylve will perform her first Sugar Plum Fairy as a guest artist? I'm dying to see her...!! Link to comment
BalletNut
I noticed that for the 17th, their website lists Abi Stafford as both Dewdrop and Flower, S.L. That should be interesting... PS: I think they've fixed it by now... Link to comment
Dale
Sofiane Sylve will make her NYCB debut next week in Nutcracker. Here's the link to the casting: http://www.nycballet.com/nycballet/html/ti...ts_casting.html Link to comment
BW
It's interesting to me to see the different roles various people play from performance to performance - for example, today, Hanna plays the Cavalier in the matinee and Mother Ginger at Night... Two very different roles. And then poor Bouder is cast as the "(Boy)" Doll - which I am assuming must be a mistake, unless she has a brother? ;) We're going tonight. Link to comment
Mel Johnson
Harlequin and Columbine used to be ordinarily danced by two women in years past. Link to comment
BW
Doll (Girl): MANDRADJIEFF Doll (Boy): BOUDER I'm not familiar with "Mandradjeiff" so can't be sure if this will be an historic style of casting or not. Link to comment

Just checked and you're right Major Mel! Both dolls are played by young women. Link to comment
