volcanohunter
Paloma Herrera's final performance in Maximiliano Guerra's Romeo and Juliet will be streamed live from the Teatro Colón on Saturday, October 17, at 8:00 pm ART, which equals 7pm Eastern and 4pm Pacific. http://www.teatrocolon.org.ar/en-vivo Hopefully there will be fully functioning video this time! volcanohunter
According to the Colón site, Herrera's partner is supposed to be Gonzalo Garcia. Is this NYCB's Garcia or another dancer with the same name? I'm puzzled because as of today he's also scheduled to perform in New York that evening. Obviously he can't be in two places at once, unless he's got bilocating skills we don't know about. http://www.teatrocolon.org.ar/es/content/romeo-y-julieta Link to comment
abatt
Garcia has been replaced in every ballet this week and also missed most or all of last week. I had assumed he was injured, but I suppose it's possible he could be off rehearsing w. Paloma. Kind of strange. Keep us posted. Link to comment
brokenwing
There are now several Instagram posts featuring Garcia rehearsing with Herrera. Perhaps Martins gave him permission to take this wonderful opportunity. Link to comment
volcanohunter
Does Herrera know her rehearsal photos are on Instagram? Glad to know that Garcia is not injured. Safe to say he won't be dancing in New York next week either. Strange that his company should not have amended the posted casting accordingly. Link to comment

California
I just lost my connection, too -- error message "too many connections" - perhaps they didn't anticipate how many of us would be watching! Link to comment
abatt
Now I'm getting audio but no video! Link to comment
California
Now I'm getting audio but no video! Same thing in Denver. I tried a tablet, but it's no different from my laptop with a good internet connection. For Paloma's sake and her worldwide fans, I hope they post a tape for at least a day or two. Link to comment
volcanohunter
It does appear that high demand made the site crash just before the ballroom scene, and although I checked in periodically, I didn't get any video after that. I hope it wasn't a complete write-off for everyone. I sort of hope priority was given to users from Argentina, because my tax dollars didn't pay for the stream. But if the point of the streams is to promote the Teatro Colón internationally, then they can't be considered very effective so far. Link to comment
yudi
I went to see the MET opera Otello and missed this one. Hope they would put a video record on YT. Link to comment
volcanohunter
It turns out it wasn't quite Herrera's final perfomance. There is still a domestic farewell tour of Giselle running November 10-19, visiting Rosario, Cordoba and Mendoza. http://www.teatrocolon.org.ar/content/gira-despedida-de-paloma-herrera Link to comment
