miliosr
Director Wes Craven has died at the age of 76. He will be remembered as one of the greatest horror film directors of all time. His two masterpieces are A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), which introduced the horror icon Freddie Kreuger into pop culture, and Scream (1996), which deconstructed the slasher genre itself. And, by all accounts, he was a very nice guy in a not-so-nice business. Link to comment
sandik
And, by all accounts, he was a very nice guy in a not-so-nice business. That's what I've heard as well. I'm not a big horror film fan, but his were tightly constructed (which, of course, made them even more difficult to watch!) Link to comment
Helene
Fresh Air did a remembrance show last week consisting of excerpts of three interviews he did with the show, including an early on from 1980 when the show was still local in Philadelphia: http://www.npr.org/2015/09/04/437320291/fresh-air-remembers-nightmare-director-wes-craven His introspection and intelligence is moving.
