kbarber
an attempt to market ballet to the iPhone generation? No, an interview by a not-very-knowledgeable blogger with Colleen Neary and Thorvald Christensen about LA Ballet's upcoming performances in Seattle. Good for a chuckle. http://blog.seattlepi.com/peoplescritic/2014/06/21/interview-thordal-christensen-and-colleen-neary-los-angeles-ballet/ Link to comment
Helene
ArtsJournal entitled its link to it, "An Almost Hilariously Awkward Interview Of The Los Angeles Ballet’s Artistic Directors." http://www.artsjournal.com/2014/06/an-almost-hilariously-awkward-interview-of-the-los-angeles-ballets-artistic-directors.html The one-time performance takes place the Friday before the week of July 4th, and many of the colege students have gone for te summer. Tickets are ~$40-99, including the TicketMaster per-ticket fee (>$10/ticketfor the top-priced tickets), but not the per-order fee. All tiers of the 2900-seat McCaw Hall are up for sale. Although there was an ad in PNB's "Giselle" program, and Doug Fullington gave a mention during the "Giselke" pre-performance talks, tying it it historically, there wasn't much publicity that I saw about a month out. Helene
It's been cancelled, according to the Ticketmaster site: http://www.ticketmaster.ca/los-angeles-ballet-presents-la-sylphide-seattle-washington-06-27-2014/event/0F004C9EAF8A8CC4?artistid=1531708&majorcatid=10002&minorcatid=12&tm_link=artist_msg-0_0F004C9EAF8A8CC4 (I'd expect it to drop off the site after Friday.) kbarber
Helene, is that the link you meant to include? It's for the Napa Valley gala. Which of these has been cancelled? LA Ballet in Seattle or Napa Valley? Link to comment
Helene
My apologies -- I fixed the link. It's the LA Ballet Seattle performance that's been canceled. I had the Napa Valley link in memory from adding it to the calendar. Link to comment
