rg
scan of a publicity still of Toumanova, presumably costumed for LES SYLPHIDES, from what may have been a Detroit newspaper, with the publication's air-brushed and painted-in touch-ups to further clarify and/or expand the photo. no credits on the back, only a stamped date: JUL 20 1941 Link to comment
Amy Reusch
Such a strange cut to the back of the costume... This wasn't very typical, or was it? Link to comment
rg
by 'back' do you mean the back of the bodice?waist? - even on the photo itself it's difficult to tell if the retouching accenuated the area of the skirt near the wings or if the skirt was rearranged for the shoot to seem fuller at the back or both or neither.
