Ambonnay
Avi Scher's newsletter included the following: "The summer season of Avi Scher & Dancers is underway with a performance at the Kennedy Center on May 31. The program will feature four works from the NYC season as well as a premiere of a new solo work for Sokvannara Sar, the star of the current documentary Dancing Across Borders. The performance will be streamed live online and will stay on the Kennedy Center Website forever, so all can see it! The cast will feature many dancers from the April season as well as some from the Joffrey Ballet and Miami City Ballet." Link to comment
carbro
Thanks, Ambonnay. Just as a sidenote, I'll point out that this performance, which starts at 6:00 pm, is FREE! From the Kennedy Center's website: http://kennedy-center.org/explorer/artists...p;source_type=B Link to comment
Helene
I'm looking forward to seeing what Scher does for Sar. Dancer-choreographers aren't always limited by their own style or physical type, but some inspirational work has come from it. Link to comment
carbro
Avi has posted a three-minute video of highlights of AS&D's first season -- a partial preview of the KC program: http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=10150181738570618 You do not have to be a Facebook member to view it. Link to comment
Ambonnay
It should be highlighted, for those members who will not be in DC: "The performance will be streamed live online and will stay on the Kennedy Center Website forever, so all can see it!" Link to comment
