brinababy87
Hope this kind of news is allowed. "Former RWB star puts her Hart into helping Korean figure skater" Working alongside two-time Olympic silver medalist Brian Orser, Hart has joined the coaching team dedicated to making 17-year-old South Korean phenomenon Yu-Na Kim the next world and Olympic champion. Legendary Canadian ice dancer Tracy Wilson and Wilson the choreographer are also part of that team.Hart hasn't donned skates since she was 11, but her recent work with one of the world's young figure skating stars sparked her desire to whirl around a frozen stage once again. "That might be a little scary," allows the dance icon, whose career with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet spanned 30 years. Yu-na Kim, a prodigious figure skater from a country where very little ice skating training exists, is widely regarded as a major contender for the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver. Link to comment
Helene
Not only appropriate, but much appreciated! It's great to see such a renowned ballerina take on this challenge, and to see ballet have an influence on figure skating. Yu-Na Kim is so talented, and if there's a Ladies skater who can translate Hart's lessons to the ice, I'm sure it is she. Link to comment
MCBallet
Evelyn Hart has a heart of gold! I would say any advice given by her is worth very much, but needs to be put into perspective for what its worth. She is an icon. She is unique, focused and highly driven. A true artist!!!! vipa
I believe years ago the skater, Debbie Thomas, asked Baryshnikov for help. I think he had another dancer work with her, but I can't remember his name. Link to comment
