Bad Move for Saratoga Fans

The remodeled SPAC amphitheatre is being unveiled this weekend and the management has announced that "to enhance your experience" all the new seats have cupholders attached and people will be allowed to bring their drinks inside to consume during the performances. I may be in the minority but I think this is awful news for fans who actually go to enjoy the performance and not the snacks.

I am the voice in the desert who saw nothing wrong with the old seats.........

I have more issues with those who overindulge in cheap perfume, big hair, cel phone texting during performances,

raised voices as a result of too much to drink.

At least the seats this first season won't stink of stale beer spilled on them......I hope.

It depends on what you're seeing, I think. There have been some performances where I would have been happy for a quadruple vodka-neat. Ice only dilutes the medicinal properties....

Ouch. It sounds less like a theater and more like a baseball stadium.

Will spectators also be allowed to throw peanut shells on the floor and yell at the umpires?

Or yell at the orchestra conductor, perhaps. "Dolce! Dolce!"
