Unfortunately, the NYT piece is what passes for journalism today. Everything has to be reported with an agenda and this writer has such a personal animosity toward Martins that it becomes the main focus of any NYCB article she writes. I wish she would be replaced by someone that actually cares about dancing but that’s unlikely to happen.

I bought my tickets online from the SPAC website and did get an email about Saturday’s cancellation. It came around 5PM Friday and contained instructions on how to obtain a refund or gift certificate. I’m not sure how they determined who got these notifications but it appears at least some of us did. I’m a longtime SPAC attendee and this is the first time I recall they’ve ever cancelled a performance. Since I’ve sat through shows in extreme heat before, I wonder if the decision was influenced by the fact there are kids performing in this ballet.

Somewhat related... I have a ticket for an upcoming show but am only interested in seeing Namouna, the last ballet on the program. Will I run into any problem showing up at the second intermission? I didn't know if ticket-takers were still available that late.

Sara Mearns posted on instagram that she is dancing on opening night, Sept 19. Her other dates are Sept 23 matinee and Sept 30 evening.

I can only go Thursday night but those prices are $40-$50 higher than all the other performances for the same seats. Other than it being the opening, is there anything special about that performance?

Thank you for responding. I did sign in to my account but still can't see anything. Are you a subscriber? I only buy single tickets each year so maybe the schedule is only viewable to subscribers at this point. I'm mostly curious to know the ballets and dates for the Richard Rodgers program. If anyone can view the schedule details, I'd appreciate it if you could post that info or PM me.

I tried to view the fall 2016 and winter 2017 schedules but the calendar still shows "There are no events for this date". Is this method still working for you or have they perhaps taken the schedules down since the time you posted?

I wanted to update this thread with my experience, which unfortunately wasn't a good one. I tried calling the box office to purchase an eight-ticket subscription and was told I could not choose exact seats, just a general location as you would if purchasing online. Maybe I was just unlucky because I got an agent that wasn't particularly helpful but I didn't end up buying anything today. If there are still a good selection of seats available in a few weeks, I'll try creating an online subscription then. Thanks for the feedback everyone.

I know they usually offer a presale for Nutcracker tickets about a week before the public on-sale date and was wondering if there might be something similar for the regular season. I'm going to be away from home when they go on sale August 2 and won't have computer access until mid-August. Although there will still be tickets available then, there are specific seats I really like and those will most likely be gone. NYCB has an arrangement with MasterCard but I haven't seen anything posted there and before doing more research, I thought I'd ask here if anyone knows whether they even do such a thing. Alternatively, do you know if it's possible to purchase a Create Your Own subscription over the phone and select your own seats? I usually attend about eight shows per year so a subscription would be fine but the online version only allows you to select by section/price. Thank you for any advice you can offer.

I'm selling a single ticket for the New York City Ballet at Saratoga Performing Arts Center for the Thursday, July 16 matinee at 2:00. I bought two tickets for the same performance so I'm selling one of them. This is a box seat and you have your choice of Box 7 Row X in the Orchestra section or Box 17 Row A in the Balcony. Does anyone have an opinion about sitting in the front row in seats A19 or A20? I'm not tall so I try to buy seats with no one directly in front of me but the seats I've always purchased in the past are now wheelchair seats. I've seen these ballets many times and prefer to see the dancers up close but have never been in the front row all the way to the side.

I stopped by the discount ticket counter in the Atrium for last Saturday night's rep program and their board indicated tickets were available with a 50% discount. The "original" ticket price listed was $138 for a Rear Orchestra seat that I later found out sells for $89 at the NYCB box office. With the 50% discount and the Atrium ticket fee, the ticket cost $73 so I saved something but it was nowhere near the discount I thought I was getting. Similarly, they had Prime Orchestra seats at a list price of $198 discounted to $99 but those seats at the NYCB Box Office were $149, not $198. I used the Atrium a few times last year and the original prices were the same as the NYCB box office then so I'm wondering how they're coming up with the list prices for the Atrium tickets now. Has anyone else noticed this? Or knows why the original prices are so much higher at the Atrium?

Thanks to NYCB for a wonderful Midsummer Night's Dream yesterday, led by Sara Mearns and Abi Stafford's lovely performances. I sat very close to the stage this time so I was able to appreciate how much emotion and expression Sara puts into her dancing. The divertissement is my favorite part of this ballet and Abi, paired with Sébastien Marcovici, was just perfect and such a pleasure to watch.

Maybe it wasn't working earlier, but I see the "click on a section to select your own seats" choice available now. Just make the selection of which level you want and go from there Thanks for the post. The "select your own" feature wasn't working earlier but it is now. Unfortunately, the good seats are all gone for all three of the performances I wanted to see. Oh well, I just saved myself $600.

For the single ticket purchases, you used to be able to see all available seats for a performance and choose the exact ones you wanted to purchase. For today's sales, I'm only able to choose the section and then it picks the tickets for me. Does anyone know of a way to get the old display or does ABT inactivate this feature when volume is heavy?

Do they usually announce casting about two weeks ahead of time? I'm visiting NYC the weekend of Feb 5-7 and would like to see Kathyrn Morgan in Sleeping Beauty. I also want to buy tickets for a play and a musical that weekend so it would be nice to know which performance she is dancing Aurora. Based on the timing of the first week's announcement, does it seem reasonable to expect that the second week casting will be posted by Saturday, Jan 23?
