leonid17
An excellent obituary dedicated to the Memory of Stanley Holden in this link http://www.latimes.com/news/obituaries/la-...news-obituaries and also at http://www.ipballet.org/bios/bio.php?persID=51[/url] Stanley Holden was a much loved and admired charactor dancer and actor/mime with the Royal Ballet who created the role of Widow Simone in Ashton's 'La Fille mal Gardee' and for me, has never been equalled in this role. He spent 30 odd years teaching in the USA. Link to comment
Natalia
What sad news. I adored Holden as Widow Simone in the Joffrey's 'Fille,' at Kennedy Center in the mid-1980s - the best Simone I've ever seen! May he rest in peace. Link to comment
glebb
I had the privilege of dancing Alain to his Simone. He never stopped telling jokes in the wings. It was fun taking his classes too! Link to comment
Memo
Here is ours. We will miss him dearly and have fond memories of the time he spent with us and us with him. I took class with him for the first time at the Stanley Holden Dance Center when I was 15 years old. I took my son to his classes when he was 15 so it went full circle for me. He had been master teaching at Los Angeles Ballet Academy since September. Although our students were always encouraged to attend his classes at CDT whenever they could. We were honored to have him in our midst. Los Angeles Ballet Academy Link to comment
