sandik
is up on the PNB website, at least for the first week. http://www.pnb.org/season/stravinsky-casting.html Only two Apollos/Terpsichores, alternating performances, which seems unusual for this company -- they often field much larger casts, with more time between shows. It's a difficult balancing act -- you want to give the dancers the chance to dig into the part, which means repetition, but you've also got to bring along as many people as you can, which often means trading multiple performances for more variety. Helene
The lecture takes place at Elliott Bay Bookstore, 101 S. Main Street, Seattle. (It was previously "TBD.") Apollo has been cast tall in both cases (Stanton and Milov). I guess Porretta can't be cast in absolutely everything all the time Link to comment
sandik
Apollo has been cast tall in both cases (Stanton and Milov). I guess Porretta can't be cast in absolutely everything all the time <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Especially since he's doing three performances of the Tetley "Rite of Spring." Link to comment
sandik
Part of the second week has been posted as well http://www.pnb.org/season/stravinsky-casting.html with Casey Herd dancing both performances of Apollo. Link to comment
Helene
Herd -- another tall Apollo! I think that's great for him and for the audience. He was superb in mulitple roles the last Balanchine celebration program. I also look forward to Vinson, Rausch, and Lowenberg as the three muses (T/P/C) Link to comment
sandik
"Herd -- another tall Apollo!" Maybe they only have the costume in the "tall" size... Link to comment
sandik
Well, full casting for this week has been posted, and Casey Herd is out of Apollo, I imagine in part because he's doing almost every performance of Rite of Spring, which is exhausting. Apollo is alternating between Stanton and Milov, just like the first week. Link to comment
