BW
Does anyone know who the choreographer for this musical - either the play or the film - was? I know that Christopher Wheeldon has used the Carousel Waltz and If I Loved You in his recent ballet...and even though I know he's the choreographer...I keep thinking it's a Jerome Robbins! Why I think this, I'm not sure...but every time I am about to see it performed by NYCB, I start to say "Oh, I love Jerome Robbins!" and then catch myself. Link to comment
glebb
There was also a wonderful revival of "Carousel" at Lincoln Center about ten years ago with choreography by Sir Kenneth MacMillan. Link to comment
Watermill
If memory serves, on opening night 1945, the Act Two Ballet brought down the house. The audience would not stop applauding, so Bambi Linn (dancing the Daughter) came on stage and they repeated the whole thing! Now that's dancing! Link to comment
