Has anyone else seen this? Season 2 has started, now with Ethan Stiefel. I wish there were more dancing (natch), but it's certainly fun to watch and it is nice to see ballet being a relatively popular subject matter for a TV show. http://vimeo.com/36339539

There are at least two fictional tv series coming to the US with ballet subject matter. I heard a mention somewhere that there might be 2 other shows going into production as well (though I haven't seen any real confirmation of that) mostly b/c of the popularity of some dance/stage mom reality series. One is the 2010 Australian teen drama Dance Academy to be televised on Teen Nick. http://www.teennick.com/tags/dance%20academy/ Call it Center Stage meets Degrassi High. and then there's a new series on ABC Family called Bunheads coming. http://www.abcfamilyauditions.com/2011/10/abc-family-series-bunheads-talent.html I've watched the Dance Academy series and it was a struggle as I'm obviously not the target demographic, but I could imagine the tween crowd enjoying it. -goro-

I bought the DVD and there was definitley some mastering issues as there's noticeable smearing. Note that I'm watchiing on a 73" TV with an Oppo Bluray player, so imperfections are perhaps more noticeable to me than otherwise. I bought the DVD with the intention of double-dipping the BluRay if the DVD was good. Obviously, I never bought the Blu and I'll likely never watch this DVD again. This also makes me very wary of any other purchases in the future. -goro-

It's the Vienna Philharmonic, but the latter half has the Vienna State Opera Ballet performing to Strauss, which is nice (if not particularly amazing). Nice to at least see SOME ballet on TV! Unfortunately, this vid only has the first half. But perhaps someone has a full link? -goro-

Thanks. I depend on posts like this to inform me on which episode to look for. I can't make it thru more than 1-2 min of the show and the host/judges on that show. It just grates on me, but i like to see the ballet performances. -goro-

The amazon.co.uk review of it calls it a "disaster". There are two reviews and one is in german and Babel Fish seems to indicate that she was mostly concerned that the Bluray has some terrible mastering issues. Can anyone speak to that? thx -goro-
