  11. Soprano Daniela Dessi has died briefly after a cancer diagnosis. http://www.gramilano.com/2016/08/daniela-dessi-dies-short-illness-59/ May she rest in peace.
  12. That is very sad news. A link to the campaign to support his wishes is welcome. My condolences to his family and friends. Rest in peace, Mr. Bunn.
  13. Thank you for letting everyone know, rg!
  14. Due to a change of plans, I got to attend the preview. At least half the company was in the studio to perform Kiyon Gaines' "Sum Stravinsky," a five-minute excerpt of Benjamin Millepied's "3 Movements," and Jessica Lang's new work "Her Door to the Sky," set to Benjamin Britten's beautiful "Simple Symphony" -- I can't wait to hear the PNB Orchestra play this next March, when the work gets its Seattle premiere -- with costumes by Bradon McDonald. It was wonderful to see the dancers and to be reminded how James Moore owned last season, from "Prodigal Son" to "Emergence" to Romeo to "Little Mortal Jump" to the shy sailor in "Fancy Free" to the lead in "Waiting at the Station." I wish I had seen him in "The Calling." He and Leta Biasucci looked terrific together in the first movement of "Sum Stravinsky" today. Lindsi Dec is back! And not a moment too soon. I don't think Matthew Renko has an "off" switch when he's moving. Casting for Jacob's Pillow is in the program; I hope I've transcribed it correctly. As always, it's subject to change. (Madison Sugg is now Madison Taylor.) Boal said that the outgoing director of Jacob's Pillow did the programming for this season and selected PNB as her final planned program, and that PNB's season-ending run is sold out! to the Company, 3 Movements (Millepied/Reich-Three Movements for Orchestra, 1986): Sum Stravinsky (Gaines/Stravinsky-Dumbarton Oaks): Her Door to the Sky (Lang/Britten-Simple Symphony): Downloadable version: August 2016 Jacobs Pillow Casting.xlsx
  15. Here's what volcanohunter describes step-by-step -- and many thanks; I didn't even see that!: "My Unread Content" is what I named a Custom Stream. I selected it from My Activity Streams. Next to custom stream titles are three icons: a light gray circle with a pencil to edit the title, a rose colored circle with a trash can to delete the stream, and, circled in red, a light gray circle with a checkmark, to set as default. For the system defaults, the little checkmark in the gray circle is the only option. The circle in red to the right shows the system default, "Unread Content". After I click the gray circle with the check mark, it turns green, and to the right you can see that my site default is now "My Unread Content." Unchecking will reset the default to the system default (Unread Content). Checking another stream title will override whatever is currently the default.
  16. We have reasons for each rule, based on hard experience. We've never been a place for everyone or every kind of discussion.
  17. Have you clicked the "save as a new stream" button, named it, and confirmed?
  18. I don't know what you mean by the old daily forum page. Our home page which lists all of the forums isn't change in that aspect. The formatting of the Upcoming Events has changed, and I had to move an amazon box to the top right -- amazon no longer supports the widget that used to appear at the bottom, but the forum listing is the same. If you had bookmarks to specific forums, they are likely broken. (I never had any forum-specific bookmarks, so I can't test to see if IPS made them backwards-compatible.) The format in the old software in the URL is different: Example of Site News URL from BT4D: http://dancers.invisionzone.com/index.php?showforum=158 Example of Site News URL from Ballet Alert!: http://balletalert.invisionzone.com/index.php?/forum/87-about-this-site/ If your bookmark links are broken, you need to reset them by going to the home page -- you can click the logo -- finding the forum on the home page, clicking the name of the forum or subforum, and bookmarking the new link in your browser. If you can't find the forum(s) you're looking for, post them here, and I'll help you find it/them.
  19. Do you mean that the site no longer brings you to the last post you've read in a thread, but instead brings you to the beginning of the thread? Whenever we do a major upgrade (3.X to 4.X, which we just did), and sometimes when we do a minor one (ex: 3.1 to 3.2), we can lose the history of what everyone has read: as far as it knows, you've never read anything. That's also why if you look for unread content, it shows you everything. Normally, marking the site read (link at the bottom right hand corner of the site) will bring you to the last post of every thread, but that isn't working for me. The best way to go to the end of a thread that you know you've been part of is to click the ">>" (last page) option at the top of the page. I need more of a description of what you're looking for or what you used to do to be able to help you. The forums are in the same format as before, and the home page is now almost close to what it was in the prior version. There are now standard queries that include all content. You can customize them for your own purposes. When you enter the home page, the default tab, just under the logo, is Forums. If you click the "Content" tab, "All Activity" is the default, but you can also choose "Unread Content," or "Content I Started" or you can choose "My Activity Streams," which includes a list of standard streams, and your Custom Streams. To customize a stream, choose any standard options from the menu or the "Unread content" link in the bottom right corner of the site, and customize it using the drop-down selections. As soon as you change the default, a button will appear in the right under the options to "Save As New Stream," where you'll get the option to create a name. If you save, it will then appear under Content > My Activity Streams > Custom Streams. This is the paradigm of this version of the software: you can add your own customization, but you can't change the defaults themselves. Here I clicked on Content > My Activity Streams > Content I Posted In, which shows the default settings. Here I opted to change the Time Period from the drop-down: Here you see the option to "Save As New Stream" and the list of Custom Streams in the "My Activity Streams" menu. If I had clicked the "Save As New Stream" button, I would have been asked to name it, and once I clicked OK, the button would have disappeared, and the new stream would have appeared on the Custom Streams List along with "My Stream" and "My Unread Content," which I created last night.
  20. First, our policy has long been no third-party reviews, professional or otherwise, in the company forums. The company forums are there for you to describe what you see. Second, in the forums where it is appropriate to discuss third-party reviews and commentary, like the Dancers and Writings on Ballet forums, only reviews and blog entries by ballet professionals and established critics are permitted on their own public-facing media and blogs and specific compilation sites, as well as in print. For online, that includes danceviewtimes and dancetabs.
  21. Have you saved a new Activity Stream? From the Content Tab (to the right of the Forums Tab, under the logo), and the My Activity Streams drop-down choose the Create New Stream button. From there you name a stream, and then customize it, specifying content and date range among other attributes, and your stream(s) will appear on the list. You can make more than one customer activity stream for different uses. You can also create a new stream by changing the settings for any of the standard streams and then saving. I've got two saved. I haven't had them long enough to notice that they've lost their search criteria/settings. The events will stop being so prominent when I finish the bulk of the work on the Calendar. They will appear in spurts throughout the year as tours are announced, and as the Russian company websites make updates.
