  1. The "best in show" in last nights Jewels (in what was otherwise a dog of a program) was Glenn Keenan in Emeralds. A debut performance, according to the program , Gleen was all self-assurance and command. She is a strikingly mature dancer yet refreshingly youthful in spirit. No self-conscience mannerisms in her dancing-nary a one. She made mere running memorable. To see her again, I will come back on Thursday.
  2. I am not often moved to respond to what I read in Ballet Talk, but after reading oberon, I too want to applaud Ms. Krohn and her innate lyricism. Her fairy variation in Sleeping Beauty was exquisite. I look forward to seeing more of her in the spring season. I also adored Glenn Keenan in everything in which she appeared no matter how big or small her role. Her growth as a dancer this winter was, I think, nothing short of miraculous. Lastly I was thrilled to see the return of Sarah Ricard. Her calm beauty has been greatly missed. Stay healthy, please.
  3. I saw Ms. Reichlen this afternoon. She is a big, beautiful girl but for my taste way,way too immature for the part. Her jump is indeed good but Hippolyta is far more than a big jump. Ms. Reichlen's Hippolyta should be confined to the rehearsal studio, but given what we've been seeing lately, I won't be surprised if Megan Fairchild turns up as the lead in the Divertissement! On a positive note, Miranda Weese was superb this afternoon.
  4. Just curious what choreography you're speaking of. Seems to me Veyette executed his turns as well as the rest. I didn't notice he left any out--but could be mistaken. I also found R. Rurtherford exquisite in Vienna.
  5. I must add that when one considers the completely natural and unforced carriage and stance of women such as Carrie Riggins, Glenn Keenan, and Pascale van Kipnis, the SAB training from age 8 has left an indelible mark. Bravo to their teachers!
