volcanohunter
Zenaida Yanowsky, who has just turned 41 years of age, will retire from the Royal Ballet in July, following the company's tour to Australia, where she will perform Paulina in The Winter's Tale, a role she originated. She's been with the Royal Ballet since 1994 and a principal since 2001. http://www.roh.org.uk/news/zenaida-yanowsky-to-retire-from-the-royal-ballet Link to comment
Helene
I am so glad I got to see her majestic Sylvia during a visit to London. What a superb artist she is. Link to comment
volcanohunter
What I presume will be Yanowsky's final performance at Covent Garden, as Ashton's Marguerite opposite Roberto Bolle, will be beamed to cinemas on Wednesday, June 7. http://www.roh.org.uk/showings/the-dreamsymphonic-variationsmarguerite-and-armand-live-2017 (Meanwhile, Alessandra Ferri, decidedly no longer retired, will dance the ballet opposite Federico Bonelli during the same run.)
