Bournonville site is up

After a few delays, the Danish www.bournonville.com site is up. LOTS of good photos, as well as information about each ballet.

(editing to clarify: It's run by Danes, but it's in English.)

Wow, that site looks really great, with a lot of nice photographs (it's nice to see Hans Beck as James, for example) and much interesting reading...

How tantalising - I get the home page with no problem, but whatever I click on from there, I get a message saying 'Configuring grafics to browser size' and then it goes into a loop. I use Netscape - is anyone else getting this problem?

I use Internet Explorer and get the "configuring grafics" message, but it quickly turns into a web page. There's a glitch in the search engine, too. It loops any searched text into subsequent entries. Perhaps they didn't test it in all browsers.

Did you see Jane's post? If you have Netscape, it may not like you. (This is not Bournonville's fault.)

I just see a pretty opening page with pictures of Bournonville, sylphs and the like, and no links to click on at all. So near, yet so far. Sigh.

I use Netscape and it works fine: I get the "configuring graphics" page at first but then the real page appears. There are links at the left of the page ("News and events", "Biography", etc.) Perhaps it is a problem of which version of Netscape one uses, or

something about Java, Javascript or cookies...

Perhaps you could try to see if the following URL works:

It's the URL of one of the "inside" pages of the site.

when i click on the add. plain. i.e. www.bournonville.com i get a full home p. and all the components to be clicked on.

but i have no idea if this says anything significant to this discussion.

Oops, there's something bizarre with that site! When I just clicked on the link I had

copied, on the first time I also got "only plain text about scripts n' stuff", but on the second time it worked fine and I got the page about "news and events". :confused:

I don't have anything to do with the site, so I don't know how they configured it, but the common thread of problems seems to be Netscape; the site isn't compatible with Netscape.

If anyone has comments to pass along of this nature, why not send them to the bournonville site (I'm sure there's a "contact us" link) as posting about it here won't solve the problems

It appears to be one of those sites that shows up fine if you're using Internet Explorer under Windows -- on a Mac with Internet Explorer, the text and navigation links don't show up at all. Kinda sloppy programming, if you ask me.

If you do access it with IE on Windows, it looks to be a fascinating site. It's also clearly a work in progress, as there have clearly been some tweaks to the opening page made in just the past hour or so.
